How do I cancel my Hotspot Shield subscription on my computer?
The Hotspot Shield app is free to download on your Android, iOS or desktop device. You don't have to pay for it but there are some things you should know.
You need to sign up for a Hotspot Shield account before you can use the app. The service works by using your PC or mobile device to act as a proxy server that lets your laptop or phone connect to a web site. Hotspot Shield then connects to the site with your device and passes along the information to the website as if it was coming from your device.
To sign up for a free Hotspot Shield account, follow the steps below. Open your browser and type in in the address bar. Click Create New Account at the top right of the page. Enter a username and password for your new account. Accept the terms of service. Click Save and Continue. After you sign up for your Hotspot Shield account, your Hotspot Shield app will display a confirmation email. Click the link to confirm your email address and open the app.
If you do not see the confirmation email in your inbox, you may have opted out of receiving emails from the service. Follow the steps above to confirm your email address.
Your device will now be connected to your new Hotspot Shield account. The next time you start the app, you will be asked to log in to your account. If you are already logged into an account, click the "Reset my account" button to log in again.
On the app home screen, click the Menu icon (three dots) and choose Settings. Select Sign in from the settings menu and sign in. If you have an existing Hotspot Shield account, you will be asked to sign in to it. If you do not have an existing account, you will be asked to sign up for one. Click I have an existing Hotspot Shield account to sign in to your existing account.
If you wish to sign up for a new account, you will be asked to enter your email address and create a password. If you wish to be a free Hotspot Shield subscriber, you can also enter your name, city, state and country in the drop-down menu.
How do I contact Hotspot Shield customer service?
You may also call Hotspot Shield customer service if you have a question between the hours of 9am and 5pm. You can also ask Hotspot Shield questions through their Facebook page.
My device is not receiving Hotspot Shield service. How do I fix this issue? You can try to contact the Hotspot Shield Customer Support team by email or phone. If you are having issues with our network, please read these tips on how to connect to Wi-Fi from a computer or tablet: Download Wi-Fi Finder on your device. Tap the Settings icon and then tap Wi-Fi (if it's not listed already). Scroll down and look for the name of your device. Scroll right to see the connection mode - Connected or Offline. When you see Connected, tap the Connect button. You can then use the connection by accessing hotspots found via the map. How do I subscribe to Hotspot Shield's Android app? If you already have a Hotspot Shield account, you can easily add Hotspot Shield as an app from the Google Play Store. If you're new to Hotspot Shield, you'll want to download our free, ad-supported app instead. You can then subscribe to Hotspot Shield by adding funds on your account. After a few days, your subscription will be active.
I can't access my Hotspot Shield app. How do I access my Hotspot Shield app again? If you find that you can no longer access your Hotspot Shield app, it could because the app has been blocked by your device, network settings, or the company using the server.
How do I cancel my Hotshield subscription?
From the Hotshield web-site: "Your Hotshield subscription automatically renews unless you manage to cancel it before it renews." I've checked my email, and I am not getting any renewal emails from Hotshield. I do, however, get the same message every time I log in to the site: "You are already subscribed to Hotshield. If you do not wish to subscribe to Hotshield, please click here to unsubscribe."
That's no good to me. But how do I cancel my subscription? It doesn't appear to be there. This article seems to suggest that I can "manually" cancel (though I don't know what that means) but I can't see how. I also tried finding a cancellation page.
You are being redirected to Hotshield's Support Site. In fact, I don't even have any email address for Hotshield. I've just signed up for Hotshield a few weeks ago and found the process really easy. It was a case of signing up and receiving the login details. I haven't been bothered with the reminder emails because I'd presumed they were spam.
I did have a problem with a third-party website - when I was at work, they blocked all traffic from accessing the site and so I had to get the login details off of Hotshield's website instead of their own site. After reading this thread though, I think I'm in a lot more trouble than I thought! So my question is: how do I cancel my subscription? I've had a couple of days to read about it but it's looking like it's going to be a rather painful process. If this is something that needs to be done, then why can't I find out how to do it on their own website? As I said, I have an email account, and I haven't received a renewal email, so I suppose that means the whole thing was cancelled automatically (which doesn't seem to be the case). I should receive the email now that explains everything.
On the other hand, I do receive mail when someone signs up for Hotshield, or when they cancel, or whatever.
How do I get a refund from Hotspot Shield?

Can I get an upgrade to another country if I made a refund request on Hotspot Shield? For international subscriptions, refunds will only be issued for purchases of one month or less. If your Hotspot Shield subscription is for longer than one month, then the refund request would need to be approved by the relevant Hotspot Shield country sales manager. For more information, please visit our Country Selection page.
Do I need to request a refund if I do not use Hotspot Shield after making a refund request? No. Once you make a refund request, you are not charged for using Hotspot Shield after you requested the refund. You do not need to request a refund if you do not use Hotspot Shield after you requested a refund.
Why do you refund my purchase? We will only refund your order if you have not yet received your refund request approval email. The refund process may take up to 3 business days depending on the availability of resources and the amount of refund requests we are handling at that time.
