How do I watch Sling TV?

Is Sling TV free with Amazon Prime?

I've had some time to play with Sling TV.

Here are the answers I've come up with: Yes, Sling TV is free when you have an Amazon Prime subscription. I haven't heard anyone tell me differently. So, you can see it for free, but if you want to watch certain shows, you have to pay. That's not a great model for the future of television. You'd think that after offering live TV for years and years, that they would be more flexible in their pricing model. But no.

It really comes down to this: If you want to watch live television without having to pay for it, you have to pay for Amazon Prime. If you want access to what they have on their website, you have to pay for Amazon Prime.

So, I'd say that's a no. But, I want to make sure we're clear on the distinction here. Sling TV has been a free offering for Amazon Prime subscribers. They don't offer a free service unless you have Amazon Prime. I'm not saying that Sling TV is bad. It's a good service. I'm just saying that it's not as good a deal as it seems.

The real question for me is, how will they market this? If you're thinking about this right now, you might want to wait a couple of weeks and see what happens. There's been some confusion on Twitter and Facebook, and I think we're going to see some announcements soon.

I'll continue to watch this one and let you know what happens.
