Can I control my child's phone from my iPhone?
Yes, and it's easy.
I have two kids under the age of 6 and they love their phones. They both have iPhones and their parents have allowed them to control their phones. And it's working out great. But how? Let's look at a few things you can do with your child's iPhone.
Create an App. You can create an app for your child on your iPhone. It can be as simple or complicated as you want. What you need to do is get the app's name and icon ready to submit to Apple. Once you've done that, you need to create a development team that has access to the app you want to build. Once you've done that, get your app submitted. You're done!
Keep the App Updated. You don't want to have an app that isn't updated. So, as you update the app, you need to create and send a new version of the app to Apple. When you make changes to your app, you need to test it on the App Store, not on your own phone. You don't want to send in a faulty version of your app to Apple. That would be bad.
Allow the App to Stay Up-to-Date. The next thing you need to do is allow the app to stay up-to-date. You need to have a back-end server that does the updates for the app. It needs to send the correct information to the app. The information that it sends to the app needs to be the correct information for the app. That means you can't send the information to the app through any email, text message or any other method that isn't through Apple's servers.
Keep Your App Updated. The last thing you need to do is keep your app updated. You can update your app every time there is a major release. Each update that you make should include a new version number. That way, if there are any problems with your app, you will know what version is being updated. So, how do you keep track of all of this?
To keep track of your app, you need to be on the Apple Developer portal. You can find this at developer.apple. The next step is to go to the iTunes Connect section. Here, you need to select Manage Your Apps and then Select My Apps.

Can I use Family Link on my child's iPhone?
My child has an iPhone and they used Family Link on it.
It hasn't linked with their Apple ID account since the 6th of January, and when I go to the App Store on the device, there's no option to "Add to Family" in that list. My kid isn't an "Apple user" - he gets a new iPhone each time (but uses an iPhone for schoolwork on an iPad).
Is it possible to get that same App Store experience on the new iPhone? (I have my old iPhone, but I'm not sure if I can use it.) (And yes, we could just create a Family Link on the old phone and do Family Link for her new phone, but it's confusing.) From looking at all Apple Store iOS Apps on devices linked to our Apple ID. You would need to re-link your phone in order to do this as the app would not be there unless it is linked to the right Apple ID (unless your iPhone is registered as a new user which is not required).
So to link a New iOS device to Family Link, log into my Apple Account and then go to "Family Link". Click Continue to setup Apple ID family details. Enter the iPhone in for "Which Apple Device", enter you child's email. Click add. It will then try to validate your credentials to verify if you own the iPhone. If they dont exist and it gets to here, follow these steps and you should be fine!
Enter a temporary password. Enter your child's email. Enter their phone number. Select Family (This app will only appear on iPhone devices that are linked to your Apple ID). Once accepted, you should see your child on Family Link on your device or iPhone. It isnt 100% sure that the phone needs to be linked to your apple ID and not your family Apple ID because it still gives the new Apple ID link.
