How do I open proxy settings on my WIFI?

How do I open proxy settings on my WIFI?

I recently purchased a refurbished Dell Latitude D520.

It came with a factory-installed Atheros wireless card and no proxy settings were listed on the GUI that comes with WIndows 7. I've already installed the necessary drivers for it to work and it works, except for the fact that no proxy settings are listed on the GUI for any of the networks I connect to. It won't open the GUI so I can enter proxy settings. How do I open the proxy settings on my wifi?

I have a new Dell Latitude D520 Laptop and it just happens to be on the Microsoft support site right now. Apparently, someone else posted something about my problem on the first page of this section of the board. I don't have access to the computer at the moment but I'll try to find the post that refers to my issue.

I had a very similar problem on my laptop. It's a laptop HP Pavillion DV6 with an Atheros wireless card. It had the same exact problem. My brother had it working in his office because he didn't want to get any problems, so I asked him how he did it. He told me how to configure the network settings to use a static IP address.

Make sure that your internet connection isn't DHCP enabled. If it's DHCP, it will use a random number of IP addresses. This could cause problems, since a lot of computers have been infected by a virus that uses DNS to redirect all of their searches to Yahoo, Bing, and other porn sites. You'd think a computer would have the option of picking an address to use automatically, but in fact, it has to be assigned manually.

Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the window and click on network connections. Right click on the wireless network connection and click on properties. Set the static IP address to "No" and the subnet mask to "255." Under wireless network settings, ensure the security method is set to "WPA (AES) TKIP" or "WPA2-Personal". This solution may not work for everyone, as it requires the use of the network connection manager. However, if you do it correctly, it should solve your problem and let you access the internet when you're away from home or your computer.

How do I turn off proxy settings on my WIFI?

I have a laptop with Windows 8.

1 preinstalled. I don't have any proxy setting in my computer. The reason that I don't have any proxy setting is because I want to keep my ip address static.

There is no way you can, unless you do some hacks. The proxy information is saved at the hardware level (Wifi driver) and the internet stack (Internet Explorer) are not able to change this settings. It seems you may have found an error in your wifi driver, maybe there is a bug or something, check your drivers.

You can do some workarounds using the registry keys.
