What is the GlassWire app for PC?

Does GlassWire consume data?

At Glasswire, we're committed to data privacy and security.

As of today we only save information about the IP addresses (the unique number that is assigned to your computer when you visit a website), browser, operating system, referring URL, and date/time in logs in order to detect suspicious behaviour on our servers. This information helps us track and fix attacks as soon as they occur. These logs have only been saved for as long as it takes a security incident to be detected so we can promptly fix any problems.

What information is stored by Glasswire? The following are collected during your visit to Glasswire: Your IP address. User-agent headers from your browser. Referring URL from your browser. Date and time of your visit. Browser data. Server information (such as the server hosting your page). Page type/content loaded/saved. Page resources. This information is used for the following: Identifying which browsers visitors use, and collecting statistical information. Fixing attacks when they occur. Keeping track of customer engagement so we can give your credit if/when you are successful. How does Glasswire protect against fraud and money laundering? Because we collect only the IP addresses (unique identifiers) of visitors, only their general location, and the date and time of visits (which do not reveal any other identifying or personal information), the collection and storage of this data does not require any consent, except if required by law. Your IP address gives us no information about you personally and the information it provides us with is already in the public domain. To the extent that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) passes this information to us through a third-party, it is the same information available to you by your browser automatically. Similarly, there are no risks inherent in connecting to our website at all; it simply connects you to us.

If Glasswire detects anything suspicious (for example, if we believe your access points are being misused) it gets our support and security engineers immediately. If we think there is a breach or risk of fraud, we'll alert our customers. Our first instinct is to immediately inform the relevant authorities.

Please note that for security reasons it is not possible for us to read your emails and phone calls at all times.

How can I monitor my internet data usage?

I am currently using my phone and netbook with a 3G connection to the Internet but I want to switch to an ADSL line. My question is, how can I monitor my internet data usage on both devices? Is there a free app that will tell me how much data I've used in the last few days, etc? Re: How can I monitor my internet data usage? Thanks for the quick response! I guess it's not as simple as using an app to check your bandwidth (using an app like NetMon or similar) as I'm using an ADSL connection that has been connected via ethernet cable. If there was a way to do it with the ADSL connection would that be enough or would I need to change the configuration of the netbook so it uses an ethernet connection to my router instead of connecting via WLAN to my router (which is where it's connected at the moment)? I have heard of programs like PC Monitor and Bandwidth which allow you to see the current speed you're connected to. They will also show the current amount of data being used. Can these programs monitor the connection? If not, is there another way I could monitor the data usage?

Hi! You may want to try using the program WebCheck. It is a free app that allows you to connect your computer to the internet wirelessly through your wifi card. You can then monitor how much data your computer is using and when it is using most of the data.

Thanks for the responses. I've tried a couple of the programs but they don't seem to be working for me. PC Monitor displays the data rate as 0kb/s but when I go to the Network and Sharing Center under the Settings tab, it shows the data rate as 5.1 kb/s.

I found a program called Bandwidth, but the website is down and I don't know if it will work with my connection. I think I'll just use my phone and netbook as I only have them for when I need to send a text or check a site.

Is there a free version of GlassWire?

I have a laptop without a HDD, and I want to install a basic security software on it so I don't spend the money to install the full GlassWire package.

? Cheers! The closest you can get is to download a free copy of Windows Live Firewall for USB but it is very limited in functionality. Most people can probably get away with installing one antivirus utility which includes some form of anti malware software but it is still better to have 2 or 3 on your device for optimal protection.
