Do you get local channels with Sling?
I use Sling to stream NBC/NBCLA/CBSLA/Fox/FOXLA on my XBOX One. It works great most of the time. However, there are times when it decides to not stream the channels at all, and I cannot find any way to restart it or have it start back up again. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and is there a solution?
Sling works for me on Xbox One with 2 tuners. One for Cable and one for Live TV. I have been switching back and forth between the Cable and Live TV tuners using the 'channel' buttons on the Xbox controller (the right hand one next to the Dpad) and the guide has always worked fine. I haven't had any problems switching back and forth for months.
Hi, so this is the second of several questions for this evening (hope it's okay to post more than once): I've recently upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 Pro. Previously I had 2 tuners with no issues, but then in the course of upgrading Windows 10 I inadvertently lost one tuner (it wasn't the first one though). I then discovered it had been replaced by another, and tried to register the first tuner to the guide but it wouldn't let me because it had already been assigned to the other tuner (which it was since I'd previously been watching both tuners at the same time using the guide). So I unregistered it and added it to the list of channels to be re-registered and re-registered it successfully. I also noticed I could only get 1 tuner to show up in the guide.
So what I'm trying to figure out now is how do I get the second tuner back to work. Right now it seems that the guide only works when either one of the tuners is selected, and the one it selects will be used by the guide even if there are also other channels in the guide that are not being displayed on that tuner. I could always create a new profile (which isn't a big deal), but it's a little more confusing for the average user to think about what to do when they're in the middle of watching something with two tuners and then find one of them disappears.

A few weeks back I went and met up with former Disney executive Nancy MacPherson and asked her about the Walt Disney Company taking back control over the Star Wars franchise -- it's been ten years since Lucas stepped away -- and MacPherson had some information that was extremely interesting. Read on for the details.
The Walt Disney Company took control over Star Wars from Lucasfilm in 2023, at which point Kathleen Kennedy became president and production chief over Lucasfilm and was assigned with producing a few new Star Wars movies as well as continuing the existing story -- which is how we get the latest Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi.e. MacPherson says that Disney never really wanted to sell off the rights to Lucasfilm and was more in it for the brand. She says that in the time that she was there as head of Lucasfilm, there was interest from Netflix as well. Netflix was looking to add content and the idea of owning that intellectual property seemed like something that would interest them, but they did not end up doing anything. There were conversations with Netflix, but nothing ever became formal. That would have opened up that world in a whole new way, but it didn't work out. But she also says that the success of the films has played a part in where this goes now, and Netflix is going to stay a little cautious -- not saying there aren't things that they'd love to do with Star Wars, but being cautious. And there are multiple reasons for that.
The first thing is, just how is your current relationship with Disney? They're probably more comfortable if you're still working under their umbrella, rather than making these kind of partnerships -- as they want the Star Wars character rights, which is something they already do own.
