Is it safe to use Android emulator on PC?
As a Java developer, I'm sure I want to use the Android emulator and virtual devices in eclipse.
But every time I start the emulator and try to work with it, it goes all slow and laggy for a while before it even starts properly. I thought maybe it was because my PC's graphic card isn't able to run Android's graphical interface. But then I thought that maybe it was because of its RAM memory.
Anyways, is it safe to use the emulator on a PC? If not, how much RAM do you think would be sufficient? And how about disk space? Does it take up enough? I have about a GB's free space on my disk. It seems like your PC may be just not up to par. When I emulate, I just get it going without any problems. It's definitely doable on a low-end system, although you might notice some lag. As for disk space, it's only about 1GB when you install, and it only really needs like 3GB if you're doing development, but with lots of projects. I wouldn't be surprised if it runs better on a laptop than a desktop machine. You could try it on your netbook or something if that's the case.
How do I share my VPN from Android to PC?
I would like to use my VPN connection on my PC.
How can I connect my WiFi device (Samsung Smart PC/Pantech) to my vpn? My device is a Samsung Smart PC Tablet. The question is how to share a VPN connection between the WiFi and the Bluetooth connection without disconnecting either of them? On a smart phone (Android) we can do "Bluetooth sharing" with an app for example Wifimanager, however this should also work for smart PC tablets too. ? First, go to your mobile settings --> select 'Wifi' tab --> check 'share wifi hotspot'. Then you can find the name and password of your vpn's hotspot. Now you should be able to access the shared internet through your laptop's network and not through a virtual one.
This will give you a chance to see both your VPN's shared hotspot's IP and your laptop's IP. The IP address displayed may not show your real IP address since it is based on an ISP and a region. For some reason my IP address changes frequently.
On a computer(Windows Vista or later), you can configure windows network to share your VPN using the following link. Open your computer's administrative tools --> click on 'Shared Folders' ----> 'Network Folders' --> 'Sharing and Connections' --> 'Sharing Options' --> Share a network folder. Enter all of the required information such as the location of the shared folder, the share type, the permissions for other users, sharing the folder, and selecting the "Allow Everyone to Sammmply" option. For windows 7 you may need to enable it first. You should now be able to see the two ip addresses (One laptop, One VPN's wifi hotspot) . You may have to login to your VPN to connect to the VPN's wifi hotspot.
Does VPN work in emulator?
If I try to log onto my VPN using the default settings, I get the error "This network is not available" which kind of implies that VPN is not working in emulator. Can someone confirm? I'm getting the error "There is no internet connection" when opening the app store, despite having a valid IP in android-config on the same computer I'm running the emulator on. Yes, VPN is not supported in android emulator. You can add these lines to your adb.conf: .
