I can't speak for all, but I know that I want to make sure my friends and family know that this channel exists, because like it or not, I believe it is an essential piece of life. And to that end, Animal Planet has always been my secret weapon in getting to make my point to others. It's not just any tv channel, it has a reputation and history behind it, and it always manages to get what I want it to do. So let's look at a few greats to know that Animal Planet actually is a thing.

Animal Planet's Whale Wars. I have heard some complain that the Animal Planet television channel is just an outlet for Animal Kingdom movies. Yes, there are some decent shows on this channel that focus on animals. But, I feel that the majority of Animal Planet is made up of the movies.

Some people watch Animal Planet. These people would not be able to identify animal if it bit them on the foot, even when it is biting their feet. (That's a joke.) That's because they watch Animal Planet. They watch Animal Planet because of movies, not because of facts about the animals. Animal Planet is the channel that started this whole thing. It is the channel where the original Whale Wars debuted, and it's the channel that showed us how to have a real relationship with these creatures. If you don't understand animal behavior, then you need to watch this show. I'm not saying that you need to love your animals, but it's nice to understand why you can't pet them.

This is a TV show about animals, for everyone. From the man who works for the National Enquirer, to the guy who sells shoes at the mall. We get a chance to see what goes on at SeaWorld, we see why you would rather pet your dogs than let them inside, and we get to know what it is like when we are working alongside a professional hunter to capture animal that we love and hate.
