How do I remove Apple ID lock?

I'm having problems with Apple ID lock.

My account has been locked for 3 days and I cannot log in to iTunes Store, App Store or the App Store for Mac. How can I remove this lock?

If you're talking about the account that you use to purchase items on the iTunes Store, then your account is in good shape. The reason for the lock is because someone is trying to take advantage of a situation. The user has two iTunes accounts and the "real" Apple ID account doesn't have an iPad or Mac device.

The issue is that someone using the "fake" Apple ID account has been using an iPad or Mac to try and purchase things from the iTunes Store. If they do, they will be charged for their items.

If you want to remove the lock, simply follow the steps outlined below. Launch the Mac App Store application (which you'll find in /Applications/). You'll then see a screen that says: If you click the link to your Apple ID it will open up the following window: If you log into the account and get the following error, it means that someone else has taken control of your Apple ID account. You can't do anything at this point since your account has been compromised.

If you tap Continue, the system will attempt to re-login with the new user. In the above screenshot, the second account is in trouble. It appears that you are the only one who has access to the account. You should be able to access the account and continue with the process.

Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the re-login. Once you're done with that, you can go back into the Mac App Store and remove the lock. If you have access to the Mac App Store, follow the instructions for that App Store. The app store might not work for you on Windows but you should be able to contact support to help.
