How to use Octoparse in Python?
The Octoparse library is a library for the parsing of Octahedron text files that we had in the first part of this tutorial series.
You already learned about the basics about the Octahedron format in Part 1 and 2 of the series, which includes defining some variables in python (I am re-using a lot of code from Part 1, so it's just a reminder). The Octoparse allows you to read in the file line by line with the most important lines being defined, and you only have to create a dictionary object as input, in the form that defines your file structure and its content. This means that the file you create can be in a different format than the one defined in Part 1 of the series. In this article I will show you how to create your own custom text file so that you can use it in the example code above. Please refer to Part 1 and 2 for the exact formatting for the file. If you want more examples on how to use the library, check out the tutorial that I created for the community. It can be found at this link here.
A basic text file example: OctoTextFile.py """Octoparse Example Code. This file is used to create a single file of octotriangles to use in the. Example code: """ OctoTextFile . Importtextfile ( "sample.txt", outputdir = '.exampleFiles' )
The first thing you want to do when you use the class is to define the parameters for your file. For our simple example file, it will look like this: Example code: """ FilePath = 'sample.txt' TargetDir = '.exampleFiles' FileFormat = OctoTextFile . Format . OTSFFILE
The file should be formatted with two of each type of node/edge definition.
Is Octoparse easy to use?

Octoparse is safe as it doesn't store data anywhere, and all information can only be viewed when the client logs into Octoparse.
Is Octoparse free? Octoparse is free for an indefinite period of time; no ads, no popups, nothing. Donate if you like Octoparse! What's the Octoparse app all about? All about a great way to keep a visual overview of what you do, and how often you do it. Is there an online version of the tool? The tool is online as well as offline. Why do some pages show up multiple times in Octoparse? Some URLs show up multiple times in our database because you've seen them several times before by clicking the "back" button, or have visited your site multiple times. Why did my site drop out of sight? If you are experiencing problems with sites that are not listed in this bot's database (ie 404, broken), it's probably because they dropped off the web and are no longer indexed on the Internet. In this case, they're just now starting to show up in Google's database of indexed sites. That said, if they are not listed, it's likely you haven't had direct contact with them since their most recent Google update. I'd recommend visiting them and letting them know you're still around. You can help by adding the site to our database, which is available for viewing.
