Why is Surfshark VPN not connecting?

I have a question, ? I have checked my system settings and ports are opened for VN. I have a vpn client that I use to connect and it works fine but when I try surfshark it just wont connect.

I have tried several different servers and nothing seems to work. It says its connected but when I type any website I get a message saying I am not connected and I need to reconnect.

I also checked my firewall settings and all ports are open. I have a laptop running windows 7 with a vpn connection that I use to connect to and it connects fine.

I've tried several other VPN services and all work, but they are not free so I would prefer to use one that isn't so expensive. Have you checked your settings? It should be a very simple procedure if you have done it before. 1) Open the network & sharing center. 2) Click on change adapter settings. 3) Select the wired connection you're using now (and not the one you're using for your VPN). 4) Click on manage connections. 5) Under the VPN tab, click on configure VPN. 6) Make sure you have selected the "Use this connection only for resources on its network" option. 7) Select the server you want to use. 8) Click OK. This should do the trick, and will also allow you to make changes to the VPN connection settings. I've had a lot of luck with Surfshark's VPN (Free), I've used it for years and it's been rock solid. I'm surprised you don't have more luck, given that you say it worked for you.

You can check the settings of your Surfshark, if you have the right ip (subnet) setup and the port forwarded. You should then be able to access the dashboard of the Surfshark and check there what is going on.

Ok, so I went in and turned on my Surfs Shark, and checked all the settings and they look good to me, but it isn't connecting. I went into the settings of my Fire Stick and I have the IP address 192.168.3.128 and then the range is 192.128/27.

So there isn't a problem with my subnet. Or with the IP address I entered, or port forwarding. What could possibly be going on?

The problem is that the IP address of your Firestick is not the same as the one in your Surfshark. I guess your firestick is assigned a different IP than the one assigned to the PC in the living room and you are getting two different IP addresses, one for the PC and another for the Firestick. The default for the Firestick is probably 10.1

The firewall of the Firestick only protects itself, so I don't know what to recommend about the Firestick without knowing the details of the firewall configuration. I suppose that this should be possible, because the Firestick is able to communicate with other Firesticks.
