How do I scrape a LinkedIn post in Python?

The goal of this exercise is to create a custom scrape that retrieves a LinkedIn profile. The first part will require an authentication via OAuth, or a custom authorization flow, which will be provided by the author. The second part is simple in theory, it just scrapes the main info of the given profile page. Here is what I would like to scrape (and retrieve through curl): User description. User email. Company name. LinkedIn page with basic company info.urlencode(authorizationData) c = mechanize.urlopen(authorizationURLQuery).get(profileURL).content

# getting the information from LinkedIn. Soup = BeautifulSoup(page). Title = soup.find('h1').text
Name = soup.find('span', ).text.strip()
Email = soup.find('span', ).strip()
Company = soup.find('div', ).

Can you scrape LinkedIn data with Python?

I have been looking for a way to do this with python/numpy/scipy or some other standard tool. Most answers I have seen here on StackOverflow only deal with pulling data off the LinkedIn API which is a different animal from scraping LinkedIn profiles (though you could probably get around that if it wasn't the case). Are there any solutions that just work on profile pages? I want to try a few different scraper tools so ideally that shouldn't be an issue.

I've used BeautifulSoup with LinkedIn API before and its been good to me. Here's the code snippet: from urllib.request import urlopen from bs4 import BeautifulSoup. Import pandas as pd. Url = '. Req = urlopen(url). Soup = BeautifulSoup(req.read(), "lxml") table = soup.find("tbody", ) rows = table.append(data) # Now we are at the end of the loop, append the results to the existing list. return alldata. #print(alldata). Df = pd.

One of the most popular business marketing tactics is to use LinkedIn. Even if you're not in sales or marketing, you may be in a position where you need to contact someone.

You can choose to send them an email and hope they respond, you can even choose to reach out on LinkedIn and hope they respond. However, there are people who might have a very busy schedule and might not even have time to engage with you. You can try waiting for them to respond, but how long do you have to wait before you give up? Or you can try reaching out via LinkedIn and hope they respond, but again, how long will that take? LinkedIn is a very busy social network. There are hundreds of thousands of posts per day, and it can take days for your message to get to the right person.

If you're in sales or marketing, this could be a major issue. If you're in a less competitive field, it's more of a problem.

If you're a freelance copywriter, you might find it difficult to get work because you're competing with people with much more experience, higher qualifications, better contacts and/or better recommendations. There are a lot of great reasons to use LinkedIn. But it can be difficult to get work if you're not using it the correct way.

So what can you do? How to scrape LinkedIn without being punished. If you're a freelancer, business owner, copywriter or marketer, chances are you use LinkedIn for one of those reasons. When I first started scraping LinkedIn, I had no idea I could get so much work from it. When I started in the summer of 2023, I would search for keywords related to my industry and target jobs I was interested in. The trick is to be as generic as possible. For example, let's say you're a writer. You can search for copywriter, freelance writing or copywriter.

This means you're targeting everything from marketing teams to project managers to web designers to CEOs.

Hello. My friend has a website where he sells stuff that I have never seen before and it's about 1% of my list of items on amazon.com. I am very interested to know if the same site is scraped using linkedin-scraper and which site did you found your product via?
Comments. Thanks for posting. The site you mentioned is a bit problematic for me as it is a competitor's product. They have a pretty cool marketing strategy so I can't complain much (they have good stuff there and it seems they care about their users).

But we didn't find them in linkedin-scraper. The reason is I have tried to get my friend to add his site on linkedin-scraper and he gave the reason of linkedin-scraper does not work with non-company websites which doesn't apply to this case at all.

In the end, the only website that got found on linkedin-scraper is amazon. I am very interested in what you found via linkedin-scraper and if you think this is worth adding to their scraper. I think your issue is that you have an Amazon affiliate link, which doesn't meet the minimum requirements for scraping. It needs to be either a product Amazon offer (which might need some filtering for certain SKUs), or the URL needs to have a rel="nofollow" tag to make sure that nobody will follow it and put the links through an affiliate tracking script. You can request a developer to help with this, though.

I am sure this will be a problem for someone. Please feel free to contact me via Let's discuss! That's really nice that linkedin is supporting you guys in some way. I don't think they have a legal basis to do this but there is no doubt that more and more companies have been signing up as clients recently.
