Does PIA VPN have a no log policy?
I'm a big fan of privacy and I use several PIA VPN services. Is the VPN service also PIA as in privacy? Does the company have a no-log policy? The VPN provider is the party that maintains the log. The provider that provides you with the VPN service is not the party that maintains the log. It's up to the VPN provider what to do with the log.
If the provider tells you that it does not keep any logs, this is true. The provider may still use third-party services to store or analyze the logs, but this is on the provider's discretion.
VPNs in general are not designed to be a privacy tool, they're intended to provide a layer of security. As such, they are typically configured to transmit your data through many servers all over the globe. The provider you're using has no obligation to keep any records about your activity. This includes not logging your IP addresses.
You can find out by checking their privacy policy. PIA VPN has a privacy policy here (look for the section titled "What Information Do We Collect, Record, Share, and How Do We Use It?"). Note that it doesn't mention IP addresses specifically.
Why is PIA app not logging in?
How do I find the reason why my application is not getting connected to the network? There are some threads here for connecting to a wireless access point, but none of them are relevant. I want to know if I'm connected to the internet. I have read many tutorials on connecting to wifi ap and PIA website, but they didn't help me out. In the app I've added the following code to my manifest file.
Is there a truly no log VPN?
In this day and age, with all the privacy issues that have cropped up, the one question that still lingers in my mind is: ? It doesn't seem like it. In fact, most VPNs are logging a lot more than they let on. Whether it's your Internet activity, browsing history or email, your VPN provider collects it all.
I've been looking at VPNs lately, and I wanted to find a really good one, but I wanted to make sure that it was truly no-log. The one I've picked out, Private Internet Access, claims it is truly no-log VPN. But is it? Let's take a closer look.
Private Internet Access, or PIA, is a great, if slightly pricey, VPN service. It has a simple interface, with minimal options to tweak. It also offers an ad-free experience. In fact, most VPN services offer an ad-free experience these days, so the fact that PIA has one is an extra bonus.
PIA supports Windows, Mac OS, Linux and iOS, as well as Android, iOS and Android mobile devices. It also works on computers running Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
But what's a no-log VPN? A truly no-log VPN is a VPN service that logs absolutely no traffic. This means that the data is not retained anywhere on their servers, and that they are unable to access the data.
Here's where it gets tricky. The best VPN services claim to be no-log, but they all actually do keep some traffic. Some of them keep all of it, and some keep very little, but you should always be sure about a VPN's no-log status.
To see whether a VPN is truly no-log, you should look at the website and terms of service. PIA does say that they do log your IP address, but that you can opt out of this. However, it doesn't say anything about the traffic they log, nor whether it's retained.
What do they actually log? You can go to the site's Privacy Policy to see what PIA actually does.
