How do I get ExpressVPN to work on my iPhone?

Why is VPN not working on iPhone?

Many people have asked me why this happens.

Well, it's all the iPhone's fault! It has to do with the way Apple handles VPN connections on the phone. First off, here is a list of VPN servers that work and those that don't:

How to fix iPhone VPN problem: If you do know what you're doing, this is easy to fix, but if you don't (and, really, who doesn't these days) it's pretty tough. We are going to go through it step by step so that you don't have to mess with an iOS device to resolve the issue.

First, we need to make sure you are connected to the internet through a VPN (note that it is not the same as a regular Wi-Fi connection that allows access to other devices on your network). To do this, you will have to use the settings section of the phone, where it will ask you for your Wi-Fi password, you need to ensure that your computer or Mac is connected through your home's router, so that it knows you are connecting through a VPN. As well, it's a good idea to connect directly from your phone to your home router because that way your phone and computer are using the same IP address, making sure they aren't connecting through a proxy server, etc.

You then need to open the same settings menu to find the area for more where there is the VPN connection. Turn on the connection, which will immediately download the server info and settings. If you want to check to see if you are already set up for a VPN, do a quick search for the name of your VPN provider on Google and you should find out right away if you're set up or not.

Open Safari.e. Navigate to some site you have a VPN for (such as Hulu) and you should be able to access it without a problem (if you don't, then you are not getting your internet through the VPN connection that is supposed to give you security and privacy protection). Then open Netflix, and we will assume that you are a subscriber of the service, though the steps I lay out below would be the same for any company that offers a VPN.

Why is ExpressVPN not working on my phone?

The ExpressVPN iOS app is a great product, but there are some minor issues that we're hoping to resolve over time.

We are happy to inform you that we have now begun to address most of the common and recurring customer feedback for the iOS app. After updating to our new ExpressVPN iOS 11 app today, we got the following email from our customer support team:

Hi Michael. Thank you for the feedback and information. I am currently reviewing this issue. I understand that you were not able to download or open your files, which is a problem we are aware of.

For iOS 11 users, we have addressed the issue by re-compiling the app. We also wanted to inform you that you will need to download the updated app and run the installation again.

Please note that this will overwrite your old ExpressVPN iOS app files on your iPhone. If you want to keep your files, you can download them manually from your ExpressVPN iOS app folder.

Please let us know if there is any other issue that you are experiencing with the app. We are sincerely grateful for your patience, and your feedback is valuable to us. We look forward to your continued support.

Best Regards. ExpressVPN Support Team. My phone does not seem to be able to download or use the ExpressVPN app. I am running the latest version of the app, and iOS 11.3.2. It is not able to download the files, and the VPN settings do not seem to work either. I have tried to re-install the app using App Store as well as iTunes, but the results are the same. The VPN does not work at all.

I have contacted the support team twice, and received no answers. I have been trying to contact support for more than an hour, and still have no answer.

ExpressVPN Review 2024.

Do you still need a VPN for iOS? Maybe. Maybe not. Depends on whether or not you think you'd have sufficient anonymity, or perhaps whether you care. We'll soon test out a potential solution, but we won't promise that all will work out for you. The best VPN service on the planet is by no means an automatic success on every platform and we can't make any promises on your iPhone.

As ExpressVPN review for ios. One day I was surfing internet with my phone. As often happened to me I forgot about ExpressVPN. After several hours or rather even days of surfing it finally hit me, why did I forget about ExpressVPN? Not that important question, but anyway here is the answer: ExpressVPN is a good choice.

I was really happy with ExpressVPN, until. 1). ExpressVPN's main drawback: "no iOS devices available" At the time of writing this review ExpressVPN told us that iOS devices would be available within the next week. If there is a bug in the ExpressVPN app because of which it does not work on your iPhone - ExpressVPN is not responsible for this issue. 2). ExpressVPN's privacy policy, what is on the other hand quite important.

After installing the software ExpressVPN tells me that they collect data such as our IP address, country, and the amount of data traffic from our device. If, as a consumer, one buys a package that includes a computer and a monthly contract such as a mobile phone, tablet and internet access provider, then they have paid for each computer, each phone and their connection data separately so if this data is shared with third parties, they're paying separately each time it is shared, but the same logic applies if they are not signed up to a contract. It is perfectly acceptable to share this information as long as they make it clear to you what their business model is and where their money is coming from.

3). ExpressVPN's apps: Not all working! Here is what it says about my iPhone, while the ExpressVPN mobile app is on my iPhone: What is ExpressVPN's Mobile App Anyway? Well, it's quite simple actually: our iPhone client is pretty straightforward.

If you purchased a Mac or Windows version of ExpressVPN, you have the expressVPN app on your iOS device already. We've already covered how to use the ExpressVPN app on your iPhone, but how do you actually get it set up on your iPhone? How to set up an ExpressVPN iPhone. The instructions below require iOS 8.3 or greater. The ExpressVPN app is no longer available for pre-iOS 7 iOS devices. This means that those on iOS 6 and lower will not be able to set up their iPhone with ExpressVPN without jailbreaking or installing an older iOS version.

To setup ExpressVPN for the first time on your iPhone, tap on the ExpressVPN app icon from the Home screen. Now you will see the following screen. Select your subscription type. Note that the free ExpressVPN option works only when connected to a Wi-Fi network. If you connect to a cellular network, you will be prompted to enter your billing information. This is because Apple requires credit card verification when it wants to activate the iPhone's hotspot functionality. For more details on how to activate this feature, check out Activating Apple Hotspot on your iPhone.

Once you've chosen your subscription plan, select the option you want to use - either Lite or Business. Click to continue.

On the next screen, click to continue. Fill in the appropriate details for your payment method and payment details. Now you need to enter a username and password for your account. When you initially set up the app, you can enter a default username and password. However, you need to change that login info to something unique for your specific iPhone. Otherwise, ExpressVPN will give you an error when you try and use the app.

Note that when you initially set up the app you can enter either an HTTP proxy or a DNS server. It is possible to use either one. However, because we are using an HTTP proxy for mobile access, we'll use the HTTP proxy option. If you have access to a DNS server, you can always use that option instead.

Enter in the text field. Then hit the Continue button.
