Is SSL port 443 TCP or UDP?
I recently started using web site that has a certificate from a well-known certificate authority.
However, when I look at the certificate in Firefox it says SSL port 443 TCP and not SSL port 443 UDP. How does this work?
It's UDP because it is encrypted. It's not a typo, just a very, very bad thing to do. The reason is that it was set up as a TLS/1.2 connection and the server was not properly configured to speak that protocol.

It provides a more general secure communication than the SSL and TLS protocols. The S/G TLS can be used in almost all applications including emails, instant messaging, instant payments etc.
HTTPS Protocol. HTTPS is a new protocol for secure communication which is used for sending emails, instant messages, instant payments etc. It has both security and privacy features. It works by using encrypted certificates.

They used RSA and DES encryption to communicate. To make emailing secure, the first algorithm they used was Triple DES and RSA, because it's hard to crack DES and RSA based encryption. However, because SSL was only a draft version, it only had 1 method (RSA-DES-RSA) to generate encryption keys. So, some people started saying it's just using a key exchange method and not a key exchange.
Then, some people thought that the first protocol of SSL, the 3-DES was vulnerable to the BEAST attack. So, RSA-DES was developed to avoid attacks. But, that was not enough as RSA-DES was also vulnerable to another brute force attack. They even said that 3DES is worse than 1-DES, although it was cracked first. Then, in 1996, the first version of SSL was created for public use, and the algorithm was chosen: AES and 3DES encryption.
