Does Surfshark work on Mac?
I mean it has been mentioned
The company says its Mac and iOS apps work fine, and can't guarantee everything, but it's an iPhone and iPad only app.
Can I play all my games in-app? Games in Surfshark's Game Library are playable even after you've upgraded to the Premium tier of service. Can I upgrade Surfshark Premium? Surfshark Premium is only available on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. On PC it's an online subscription, so you'll need to pay for that as well.
How much will Surfshark cost? Surfshark costs 3.99 a month for unlimited access to all the games on their website, and 10.99 a month for a premium iPhone/iPad app with extra features.
Is it safe to buy? Sure it is. After downloading it you'll be asked to create a password (called a "pin") and to provide an email address (for troubleshooting and to receive updates). If you don't want to give your details at this stage, you can wait until the end.
Why is my VPN not connecting on my Mac?
I connected a PPTP VPN using IPP to a VPS.
A user on the Mac tried to connect and got the message "The remote server's certificate is invalid, so DNS requests will not be accepted". I could connect with his wireless card and then he connected with ethernet. So it might be a problem with my VPS that it does not accept his certificate when connecting via ethernet. Any ideas?
You need an internet IP address that can accept connections with a VPN connection. This is one of the most difficult things that users have found about using a VPN.
Since you cannot change the default IP address allocation for your VPN, you either need to have a VPN server on your VPS that provides a different IP address than the user (or use an existing VPN server), or you need to give your Mac/user an alternative source of access to the internet. Your options are to either change your ISP's default IP address allocation, or get a VPN server to assign you a special IP address. In either case, you should NOT choose a residential IP address - it will be too small for your needs.
You could assign the residential IP address to yourself using a VPN connection, however the easiest option for you would be to provide a new ISP service with the residential IP address assignment. You will be given two sub-addresses - a public and a private one that cannot be used on your own network (you can use these on your vpn connection as they're intended for use by the web servers to be able to route to the public IP).
You should not change the public IP address by using your ISP's control panel. The ISP will assign a dynamic IP to you, which will make you more vulnerable to DNS poisoning attacks - you should use an assigned IP address from your VPN connection.
