Why is my Windscribe not working on my Firestick?

I have a Netgear wireless-AC300 Firestick. I am running Ubuntu 16.10 (latest distro updates). I have downloaded and run/installed the latest versions of Windscribe and the Netgear AC3190-USB2.11 Drivers, as suggested on several guides. I ran the command: "modprobe bnep" which installed the module.

However, Windscribe is not working at all, it just sits and does nothing. I know it says my connection is active and connected by watching the wireless LED change colors, and my internet works fine by connecting to a router via Ethernet cable. I tried "windscribe --bcast" and it returned the following error: "Windscribe version 5.4 or later is required but found 5.3 at (none)"

Any ideas? Note: A solution that would work for me could be an offline installer for Linux; I get the "networking unavailable/error" when the online installer asks for the network connection. Update #1. So I found a bug and had it solved when updating to netgear's latest drivers. But I want to solve it from my initial state.810-25-generic
Update #2. I found my old netgear wifi adapters are not compatible. If I do lsusb the last item in the list (ID 12dc:5327) is my Netgear AC1220-N Wi-Fi USB adapter. Also I found two wifi adapters listed in lsusb with other ids (the only two listed, one being my newer netgear). For example: ID 0810:0001 Uniike
When I unplugged the older adapters, my WiFi didn't work. The newer Netgear adapters worked, so I plugged them in and rebooted to let the kernel recognize them.
