Why can't McAfee connect to VPN?

This happened to me yesterday.

I was looking at the logs in my router while trying to figure out why I kept getting DNS problems when trying to access a certain website. I saw one entry where McAfee tries to send VPN packets and eventually gives up after 4 retries.

I've run diagnostics on my router for any potential issues (which are minimal) but still could not locate the problem. The logs tell me that no other machines can establish connection to the firewall, they all say "not allowed by policy". What's going on here? I don't know what settings should prevent them from making an outbound connection but they're still allowed to connect. I've checked the routing table and the packets never reach the internet. If anything, I've tried everything.

Ports 80, 443, 22 and 9100 are open on my router. Thanks in advance.
