How do I create a Canadian Apple ID?

If you've been waiting for an Apple ID, it's finally here! If you haven't created one already, you'll need to first set up your e-mail, password, and billing information on appleid.ca.

When you're ready, follow the steps below to create a Canadian Apple ID. First, select your Apple ID. You can create as many Apple IDs as you need, but only one can be associated with a payment method. This means you can use your Canadian Apple ID to make purchases using your Payment Method linked to that Apple ID. To learn more about managing multiple Apple IDs, see Managing Multiple Apple IDs.

If you've created a Canadian Apple ID before, you can also use the same information to create a new Canadian Apple ID. Note: If you have any existing accounts associated with your Apple ID, such as iCloud accounts, Apple Pay accounts, or apps, you will be asked to sign in to those accounts and confirm your login information. Sign in to appleid.ca Select Apple ID. Click Continue. In the following screens, you will use the information you provided when you registered your e-mail and password at appleid.ca to create a new Apple ID.

Create Apple ID. Enter your e-mail address and select the country of your billing address from the list. If you're using your billing address for other Apple services, you'll be asked to confirm this information as well.

Enter your name and provide a friendly name for your Apple ID. You may optionally enter a display name.

Choose a password for your Apple ID. Type a password for your Apple ID. You can create as many Apple IDs as you need, but only one can be associated with a payment method.

Can I create an Apple ID for a different country?

I live in the UK but have always used my US one for iCloud, etc.

Can I now create an Apple ID for the UK with a different country code? I want to use my US one for iCloud, iTunes and any new purchases.

When you say "My Mac" does that mean you own your Mac? Or are you talking about a "Mac" at work? W.Jan 23 '12 at 13:16 1

Yes, I own my Mac. I bought it a few years ago. It's still going strong.

It sounds like you already have an Apple ID that's associated with your US-based account. And you'd have to re-register your Apple ID, since it would be tied to a different country code. That is what I understood from the answer.

If you are using a Mac, then you don't need an Apple ID, because they take care of that for you. You just need to log in to the system once.

Yes, I know. That's why I'm confused because I do want to buy stuff on the internet with my apple ID. But I wanted to avoid having to login to iTunes or buy stuff every time I want to do it. I just didn't know if there was some way to do it.

@Nammy The US iTunes is tied to the US account only. If you have a US iTunes account that works for you, then that's the only option. However, Apple is going to give you one more login opportunity after that - so you'll probably want to change your account name as well.

@Remy - In most cases, if you own the computer, you don't need an Apple ID. They take care of all of that for you. If you do need one, it will be associated with your address.

How do I switch to Canada Apple Store?

So my current phone has some issues with Bluetooth, and it's not really an issue for me - I have my keyboard plugged in all the time, it's easy to switch from keyboard to mouse with the keyboard off or vice versa, I just turn on mouse mode when I need to, etc.

I don't need it. My current device (6th generation iPod Touch) also requires a separate power cable when plugged in to the wall, and of course, requires a different plug than my laptop - so I just bring two chargers with me when I travel.

My issue is that all my files are in one folder - so when my tablet is running out of battery or low on charge, I still have everything from my laptop. So if there were a service that you could connect your files to and get a new device (like the Apple Store), it would be so nice to be able to carry a couple of chargers instead of constantly having to carry a charger with me. If it were a lot more, then I'd see it as an attractive option. However, if it cost much more, then I'd simply prefer to just replace the old device outright and leave it with my other files, and it will be less hassle to just do that than to keep trying to sync everything over again.

So do you think this is possible, and if so, how would you set it up? It would be great if someone else was going to be on the forums to answer questions, but otherwise, a description of how it works would be helpful. I believe this "service" was offered for an extended period of time (perhaps through the end of 2018) but is no longer an option for new products. It's not clear what exactly they offered in terms of the "service" but it's likely they provided storage space and some type of back-up so that you could restore your iPhone, iPad, or whatever if the worst happened.

Can I create Apple ID account?

I'm an Apple developer.

Can I create my own Apple ID or do I have to get it through a service like Apple Developer Programme ( ). Please help. Thanks.

Short Answer: Yes you can. As for the why, Apple probably doesn't want your personal details exposed, this would also allow you to login on a new machine where no such account exists (eg if you install Linux). For those kind of things, having a one-off "Apple ID" account would be very handy.
