How do I hide my IP address anonymously?
I've been using the free anonymous service by www.
Anony-ip.com. It's great but I'd like to know if there's a way to make it more secure. When I'm on their site, it's easy for someone to find my location but I don't want to give them that information. So I'm looking for suggestions on how to hide my IP address.
For example, I can use the browser extension called "Hide My IP" by Anony Mouse (), but when I do this, I have to use the "https" version of anony-ip.com and it doesn't work with the regular version of the website. I don't know if there's any security issue with using it on the https version or if it's just a compatibility issue. I also tried using the Tor browser but that didn't work either.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've already tried going through the steps on ? and How do I protect myself against internet stalkers? but those answers aren't very specific. What you're asking for isn't possible. You can't hide your IP address from the websites you visit. This is because all the information that a website has about you comes from what your ISP sends them. They can see that your computer came from your IP address and that it connected to a certain website at a certain time. Even if you had a proxy server that hid your real IP, the websites that you visit still have your real IP address on record.
The only way to hide your IP address from the websites you visit is to use a proxy server. There are plenty of ways to do this (many of which are paid) but you have to get in the habit of using a proxy server whenever you connect to the Internet.
When you use a proxy server, the websites you visit only know that you're coming from a particular IP address. But because you're connecting through a proxy server, they can't see your real IP address.
Anonymity is not real anonymity. The way to truly hide your IP address is to use a proxy server, but that's not always possible. In some places, for example, most public libraries, it's not allowed to use a proxy server.
Is it legal to hide your IP address?
Is it illegal?
Is it effective, and is it worth all the stress? We look at these questions and more on today's edition of the Daily.
What is IP spoofing? Spoofing is when someone lies about their IP address to trick a website into thinking they're from somewhere else. It can be annoying because your browser will start to think it's connecting to a different site based on an invalid IP address.
The use of IP spoofing is not permitted in some countries, such as the US. Why do people use IP spoofing? Spoofing can be used to evade a firewall or to defeat the security of websites that enforce user authentication. While this may seem like a good idea on first glance, it actually opens you up to many security vulnerabilities that can be exploited in potentially disastrous ways. For example, if your router is hacked and IP address spoofing is performed by a bad actor, the bad guy could access your router and set it to direct you to malicious websites. Also, if you visit a website that doesn't ask you for a username or password, a computer user could spoof his IP address, log in, and then get their account compromised without them knowing.
What is the danger of IP spoofing? A potential hazard of IP spoofing is being duped. This happens when the "distant" site acts as though you're connecting from another country when, in fact, you're connected to that site from within the USSo if you believe you're connecting from somewhere in Russia but actually are in Kansas, for example, you might be duped into entering some personal information, and that person's information could be exposed.
Spoofing is also often used to mask the identity of a hacker by faking a valid connection. Is IP spoofing legal? Since IP spoofing can be used to commit a crime, in some countries IP spoofing is illegal. The exact laws that prohibit spoofing differ from country to country. A search of the relevant laws of the European Union (EU) might help clarify where you can spoof legally.
In the United States, the FCC has banned the use of IP spoofing for commercial communications. However, the federal law applies only to networks attached to the Internet.
Which VPN can hide IP address?
Is there any VPN that allows you to hide your IP address?
I'm looking for an unlimited plan with a lot of bandwidth. We were using the ExpressVPN, but we cancelled our plan because it wasn't enough for our usage.99 and we go through like 200 GB a month, so it was pretty much useless. It's just annoying that they're not giving us a chance to test it out.
We were using ExpressVPN because it was free to use and didn't limit our bandwidth as we are with the PP/IXL plan. Re: Is there any VPN that allows you to hide your IP address? ExpressVPN allows unlimited traffic. With their server network they can also do IP leak blocking. In my testing they have done a good job in blocking leaks. The only problem is that they have server locations all over the world and you will have to pay the premium to access those servers. They do offer a free trial though if you want to try it out. I wouldn't have a problem going with a basic server location and having them block IP leak when you need to and have the premium to access the servers I would choose. Hope that helps.

It seems like the VPN doesn't matter all that much, maybe if I had an IP address close to theirs I'd be able to switch to them, but I live in the middle of nowhere (like 20 minutes away) so I'd probably be moving to a different location anyways.
