How do I fix Netflix VPN proxy error?
I am trying to use VPN on the iPad to get the Netflix app working. I have downloaded the Netflix app from the app store and installed it. I am also using StrongVPN on my computer to connect to the VPN on my iPad. When I open Netflix on the iPad, I am not allowed to use the VPN.
I have followed a number of websites to fix this problem but all have failed. The most frustrating thing is that every time I restart the iPad, the Netflix app works until I close the app and then I have to do it again. Can anyone help?
Re: ? I can connect to the VPN, but Netflix doesn't want to work with the proxy. It says the proxy address isn't valid. In the past, when I was testing, everything worked fine.
I have connected to the VPN on my PC, and I can access all my network resources fine (including websites that are restricted by a firewall), but the same site, through the VPN, doesn't allow me access. I can't even access the website through a VPN.
I am the same person as you and it's working great for me. However, I use StrongVPN and I had no problems on the first day. Today, something went wrong and now I can't get through.
To solve this problem, I went back to the default Settings app on the iPad and changed the DNS settings for 'System DNS' to Google DNS. I also changed the settings for the 'VPN settings' to Google DNS.
After that, I can access Netflix again. I will come back here when I get some trouble and try to explain what happened.
Okay, I did that and everything is working perfectly. I tried to sign in using a different Netflix account, but it won't work because I am using the free version of Netflix. I think they may have changed something that has to do with the free version. Anyways, I think it's working now. I will try to sign in using a different Netflix account later today. Thanks so much.
Why does Netflix say you seem to be using a VPN or proxy?
What is it?
Are you using a VPN or proxy? Netflix says it's because of your location. But this is nonsense.
In a recent blog post Netflix admitted that it was targeting VPN and proxy users. But why would a streaming service care about your location? I'm from Canada and I use a VPN all the time to get around geo-restrictions.
"We are now seeing users in a larger number of countries, as we look to provide a truly global service," the company said. "Our system appears to be working very well in these new markets, but we are still actively testing the service and monitoring any glitches or issues that may occur."
So the VPN and proxies are the reason they're doing that? What is a VPN/Proxy? A virtual private network (VPN) is a method of securely connecting to a private network from any Internet connection, or any public Internet connection, over a shared or public network. A VPN can connect two networks together so they are not directly connected by an Internet service provider (ISP), as would otherwise be the case if they are on different local IP networks. Virtual Private Network (VPN). The term VPN describes the combination of two key features: the use of a Virtual Network Protocol (VPNv2), which enables traffic to be tunneled through a VPN gateway that connects the two systems, and encryption, which prevents eavesdroppers from intercepting and reading communications. VPNs offer privacy and security for Internet users who connect to the Internet through a shared or public network (such as an ISP), because traffic is encrypted at the router that connects them to the Internet. VPNs are used by businesses, corporations, and individuals to secure sensitive information, such as credit card and bank account numbers, confidential internal documents, and data transmissions. They are also commonly used to make it easier for employees to work from home, either inside or outside their home countries. The service is commonly used to protect against snooping by government or employers who use computer monitors and other spying devices.
A VPN also provides privacy and security for internet users who use services such as Netflix, BBC iPlayer, HULU, or others, where one or more computers connect to the same network. This is because the VPN creates a tunnel, allowing the content in each location to be accessed.
