Should I use a proxy server or not?
I was using a proxy to access internet, but I found that it was affecting the game's speed, even with a good internet connection. So I stopped using it. My question is, should I use a proxy? If I don't, will I be able to play without any problems?
Having a proxy can be useful for various reasons. It can allow you to access restricted resources, it can route traffic through your computer to hide the location of the server, and it can hide your IP address so that your ISP won't know that you're using the internet.
That being said, there are some downsides to using a proxy. When it comes to playing multiplayer games, a proxy tends to slow down the network connections between players. It also tends to add latency which could affect your timing. Using a proxy can also break certain features of a game that are dependent on your IP address. This could include things like finding out where you can get maps, getting an invite to a game, etc.
All-in-all, a proxy might be useful for certain tasks, but you should try to do those tasks directly. There are several guides online for using a proxy to help you with that.
Why does my PS4 keep asking if I want to use a proxy server?
Hi all. I recently purchased a PS4 Slim for a friend. I put in the disc he sent me, and started to play Assassin's Creed Rogue. I had played the demo and had no problems. The game loaded fine, and everything seemed to be working fine. My friend could log into his account and play the game without any issues.
About 20 minutes into the game, the PlayStation 4 started asking if I wanted to use a proxy server. I tried to ignore it, but it was making the game lag pretty bad. So I closed it out. The game crashed, I tried to log back in, and that's when I noticed that my friend's PSN was listed as offline. I tried to log in again, and I was able to. Then I tried to create an account, but I kept getting an error message saying that there was a problem with my internet connection, or something to that effect.
I tried to play another game, but I had no luck. It kept telling me that I needed to connect to the internet first.
So I turned off my PS4 and connected it back to the internet. This seemed to clear up the situation. I was able to create an account, so I logged back into the game and everything was back to normal. So, what is this message about? Why did it start happening, and what is it?
AFAIK, it has nothing to do with the PS4 itself, but rather your PSN account. If you and your friend have the same PSN account, that's probably the reason why it was working before.
Yes, but after they had it for about 24 hours and it was still doing that, I tried calling the support number on their site, and it said the same thing. They said I would get a call back by 10:00AM on Monday morning. I haven't heard anything since then. So, how can I troubleshoot this?
How do I set up a proxy server on Ps4?
I'd like to get a proxy server set up to use on the ps4. How do I go about doing this? If possible, can it run as a separate program? Your best bet is to use a VPN or SSH. The reason being that your PS4 is still connected to the network. If you're using it in a home network, you'll need to configure your router to be a VPN gateway. If you don't know how to use putty, you can google it.
