How do I make Netflix use proxy settings for both computers? Whenever I sign in to Netflix on my laptop, it automatically connects to the VPN that I have set up on my desktop, but whenever I sign in to Netflix on my desktop, it doesn't. I have to change the proxy settings on my desktop manually every time I sign in.
I went into Netflix and added a number of movies to my queue. However, when I log back in, I see the movies I just added to my queue as "Pending". How do I fix this?
If you find yourself unable to create a Netflix account, or unable to log in to your account after a seemingly successful creation, make sure your web browser has the most recent version of Flash installed. If you are using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, you can check which version of Flash is installed by selecting About and looking at the upper-right corner of the window.
Netflix will not allow you to create a free account unless you already have a Netflix account and you want to cancel that account. If you are trying to do this and don't want to cancel the paid account, you should cancel it first before creating a free account.
I have created a new account and I am trying to log in and see what's available. It says that it is connecting and I get a green light on the account, but then it says that there was an error and it closes the window. What am I doing wrong?
To create an account for the first time you need to download the Netflix program (it's in the 'Games' menu) and then sign in with your email and password. Once you are logged in, you are good to go! How do I cancel my Netflix subscription? I created an account and tried to log in. But when I tried it said that it didn't have a valid IP address. I'm really excited to be getting back to college and to have my own Netflix account. But, I don't know if I want to cancel my account. Any ideas on how to do this?
How do I log into my existing Netflix account?
We've been told for a few days now by our parents and our friends to get off the Netflix train, and to make sure we never come back from the edge of insanity that seems to have already claimed several of our lives.
Our argument boils down to them saying it's a waste of money or you get less than two hours of good movies in a day. My opinion is that this is a huge mis-use of our precious time and it only makes us lazy and unable to concentrate on what's really important in life - working hard to earn as much money as possible and putting a lot of it into the local bank vault.
The fact is - you're wrong, Netflix is a great way to watch shows that would otherwise be missing from your TV service, movies which you otherwise could not possibly watch, and it saves you all the effort of going to see new releases at the cinema. If you want to keep your relationship with Netflix a casual one, then I'm sorry to say this but you should leave, it will never grow in any other direction than downhill for everyone, so long as you don't try and hide your identity with an account shared by family members. Netflix does however, allow members to keep their logins regardless of the changes we've forced on our network so if you do not want to sign up and wait until 6am the next morning to check in, we have a workaround for you.
How to sign up to Netflix without changing your password: First thing to note, Netflix requires a valid credit card (which we pay for) to use the service so it will work regardless of your situation. You don't need to link your credit card and if you have a mobile phone carrier contract with Netflix then there will be no additional charges when signing up.
You can use one of many websites to obtain the free registration code. For example, you can choose to purchase an SSL certificate from the site below and enter that to obtain a password.
How do I change the password on my Netflix account?
Are there any new changes to the Netflix sign-up process?
This summer Netflix changed its sign up process for subscribers to offer users the ability to choose which movies and TV shows to include in their subscription. A previous Netflix employee on our team has provided some insight into this update: To subscribe to Netflix, you can sign up directly at Netflix.com using your credit card or pay with your Netflix account. If you're just setting up a new subscription, you'll receive one free month of Netflix streaming. However, once you have signed up, you must set your Favorite shows & movies before you can start watching them.
The Favorite Shows & Movies interface is where the new Netflix sign-up system is located. It is not listed as being separate from the rest of the sign up process. The section where you enter your credit card information and billing address is still directly accessible.
Netflix still shows the same instructions as they did last month. Click here to begin. You can also find more details about choosing a payment method in our Help section.
What does the new Netflix sign up system look like? After signing up, you are immediately taken to the Favorite shows & movies page. This is where you are asked to select which shows and movies you want to include in your subscription. Here is a screenshot from our testing of the new sign up process:
On the left hand side of the page there is a long scrolling list of movies and shows that will be included with your subscription. On the right side of the page, the list of movies and shows you currently have on your Netflix viewing history is displayed.
How do I add movies and shows to my subscription? Once you have selected the movies and shows that you want to be included in your subscription, you are then brought to a page that lists all of the titles that you have selected. This page is where you can manage your subscription by changing the date that it starts and ends. You can also change the frequency of Netflix's billing cycle.
This screenshot from our own testing of the new sign up process shows all of the categories you have selected in this step. Once you have selected all the categories you want to be included in your subscription, you are taken to the next step of the new sign up process.
How do I go to Netflix account settings?
If you are having trouble accessing your account, it's possible that your settings may be preventing you from accessing your Netflix account.
If you are trying to access the Netflix home page, the following steps may help: From your desktop computer, open Internet Explorer. Click on the "Internet Options" link on the Tools menu. Click on the "Privacy and Security" tab. Click on the "Custom Level" option in the Privacy and Security window. Scroll down to the "Scripting" section and select the "Enable" radio button for "Allow scripts to execute content" and click OK.
Return to the Netflix home page by clicking the button on your Netflix box. Use the remote control to scroll to the bottom of the home page. You should see a link for "Netflix Account". Click this link.
Note: If you are having trouble accessing the Netflix home page, the "Netflix Account" link may be in a different location on your Netflix box. If so, look for the same link on the bottom of the home page.
You should now be able to access your account. Note: If you are still experiencing problems, contact Netflix Technical Support.
