Image source Wishes on Instagram. The SONIUM allows you to build applications in HTML5 that link into the Sonos system by voice obviously the natural next step is of course Alexa Link, no? Does NordVPN have a free version?

NordVPN was the first VPN to state that they have a completely free version. They say this on their website and within their apps. You can download the app for free and use it completely for free. What is one particularly nice thing about this free version is that you are able to download multiple servers at once, in case you want to connect to multiple locations.99 per year, which they say is for sensible users. Much of the functionality within the premium version is identical to the free version, and for the most part you get the same functionality.

For both versions, you need to select a type of plan, and after that, you have to pick a location. This doesn't seem to be any different than other VPN providers. This can lead to some confusion because they do not have a physical plan selector. Instead, this is done using a dropdown menu which only contains four options, and since all the features are exactly the same, it's just a matter of being able to change which location you want to use.

I browsed through their forums here to get an idea of if there were any major differences between the free and paid plans. I didn't find any. I did notice that you have the option to receive email notifications if you purchase the monthly plan. This made me think that they did not want to make those emails public, but I was mistaken. If you cancel your subscription, your account will be deleted, so you won't be able to receive notifications.

When it comes to censorship, I found their forums to be interesting, to say the least. I found that the forum moderators seemed to be making a conscious effort to censor topics which discussed censorship. At the time that I'm writing this review, the Censorship forum is a ghost town of sorts.

This was in stark contrast to their forums when I was using a VPN earlier this year. There was a lot more discussion and debate there. It seems as though this is the new standard within VPN forums. While I am not sure why this is the case, I don't think that it's necessarily a bad thing.
