What is the difference between Google Lens and image search?
In this video, you'll learn the main differences between Google Lens and image search!
Image search is like a simple image search for pictures on the web. Google Lens is like the real thing where it analyzes all data right on the page and gives you useful info on your camera. This also includes objects in your images or even your surroundings. But it is mainly about object recognition.
It can also work out how bright your environment is (if you're taking pictures outside) and analyze what color your images are. But it focuses a lot on objects. So, for example: "what food does this look like?" or "what is the shape of this rock?"
Now I'm happy that there's more than just one way to find answer on google and now that I own my own camera, there's even more of a reason to use it.
Can you Google search a picture on your iPhone?
Yes, of course you can.
But what if the image you want to search doesn't exist on Google yet? Or worse, even though it does exist, you can't find it online? You can ask a Google Assistant to help, so long as you use an iPhone 6S or later, an iPad Pro, a Mac, or a PC running MacOS 10.12 or later. How? Well, Apple made this pretty easy to do.
The trick is to use the new Siri Shortcuts feature in iOS 11. The Shortcuts app not only helps you create and build those shortcuts, but once they're done they also give you access to the Siri Shortcuts web service. And while there aren't any search tools yet, the Apple developers have already written some scripts that perform specific searches for you. So next time you're looking for a specific image on the web, make sure you search with your favorite Shortcuts script, and just like that, the search result you want will appear on your screen in just seconds.
How It Works. To start off, download the free Shortcuts app from the App Store. (It's not available for download right now, but once it's released you can download it manually from the App Store.) After you've downloaded and installed the app, launch it from your home screen and click the Plus button at the bottom of the app. In your Dashboard, click on the New shortcut button.
This is where it gets cool. Click the Browse button below, select and share any image you want to perform the search using, and then select the desired image in the pop up gallery window that will open. This is just a way to make a shortcut for that image, so even if the photo you've selected doesn't exist yet, it won't hurt you to add it to the new shortcut. And once the Shortcuts API script is running, the script will look for that image every 24 hours (or sooner), or as frequently as the Apple developer allows you to set, and then automatically find and perform the search query for you.
How to identify an image on an iPhone?
We all know that when an iPhone user selects a photo from their camera roll it will display a small icon in the bottom right of the screen and that is typically used to mark which image is about to be used for displaying elsewhere on the website or App that the user is currently working on. The problem is identifying this particular image is easy once you know how, I just want to explain it! In this tutorial we'll be looking at: How to get a screenshot and make it a bit more useful, ie to be able to easily identify a marked image. How to detect the selection of the marked image and extract it out from the entire photo to send it back to the App, so it can be displayed in the App's UI without any error in what was taken. In Part 2 you'll also find some tips for how to speed up image loading when the mark function is triggered. Identifying the Marked Image. So let's say you take a picture and you want to identify the one you just took. How would you do that? You open up the Photos app on your iPhone (or iPad) - it's probably already running in the background. You then use the camera icon to snap a pic of something and save it in the app. And now the following will happen on your device, if you didn't do any settings about what apps are allowed to access your pictures, images and videos:
Now you have a picture saved into your phone. What? Why would it be saved in there? Because we all know that every picture you take is stored in your computer when you hook up your iPhone to that and then you sync it back again at the end. So when you get into the Photos app, there's a good chance that it has already made an automatic copy of that image in your camera roll that the app is storing in the cloud with every other image you've got.
It does the same thing even if you are using a 3rd party app. For example, it will make a copy of that image in your camera roll, regardless of what app is in use or if you are editing a RAW picture.
If we're talking about just taking a picture out of your camera roll, opening it in your phone, you're most likely thinking well what about those Apps.
