Does VPN work on Samsung?
Forum Threads.
VPN on my Samsung Galaxy S5 using the Samsung open source kernel (custom ROM), Android version is 4.2. There are several questions about VPN here but many of them don't work with Samsung, I am hoping to get help on how to actually install VPN apps.
I have a TP-Link modem/router that can handle VPN. I installed OpenVPN on my computer as instructed and it works fine, but with the new TP-Link firmware, the OpenVPN IP and server are gone. So, can I just change my wifi network's name (SSID) and set the DNS servers on this computer (with a program like DDWRT router) and have the VPN work? I don't need the IP from the OpenVPN if possible.
Also I have tried using the OpenVPN service and I also don't get the IP address on my pc unless I use a hotspot provider. Please help out, it is my understanding there is a way to use a VPN on a mobile device or tablet without them having to use carrier services for the IP. Can I use NordVPN on my Samsung TV?
NordVPN can be used on a Samsung TV, but you'll have to use some workarounds.
If you want to connect to your NordVPN server, you'll need to use a network connection first, and then you can plug in the HDMI cable.
It is worth mentioning that the best way to actually connect to a VPN server is not to use a cable, but to use Wi-Fi instead. With this setup, you can also change servers automatically when you move from one Wi-Fi access point to another.
Using a cable will probably not work, since the Samsung TV will not have an ethernet port. We would suggest you follow the instructions below, and have a look at our guide to changing IP addresses if you are still unclear.
