How do I get a closed caption on AMC?

I've been watching AMC for a long time and love the shows that they have.

However, one thing I don't like is the closed captions on some of the shows. I'm sure there is a way to turn it off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you get the captions on AMC TV or AMC Network's other channels? Because if you are getting captions on the channel itself, you need to set up your player to choose the correct language and you will be able to turn off captions if you choose. On the AMC player app or Roku you can go to Settings > Account > Language and change it.

I do get captions on AMC. I have no idea what you mean by "AMC Network's other channels." Do you mean AMC or AMC-HD? If so, you have to check your cable box settings for that, but I've always had to manually select the right language (and then click to accept it) to get captions on AMC.

My wife was recently given a Roku 3 with an HDMI cord and antenna. It picks up the network fine, but it will not record AMC in a way that she can watch it later. So I'm not sure if it's a problem with the Roku, with the way AMC is delivered over-the-air, or just the set-up. We don't get NBC or FOX, but we do get a few other networks and our local PBS station. The "Program Info" screen for AMC is completely blank.

How do I turn it off? I've opened up a movie in the Windows Media Player. I just want to shut the damn thing off so I can watch the darn thing. Does anyone know how to do this? Yes, we get it and we get it all the time. We also have a lot of people who turn on their captions only when they like the actor. It's much like hearing the words said in a voice they don't know at a time they don't like. So, for the time the movie is on, you can hear it. Just as if they were watching TV. When they stop, you won't hear a thing. It's not as bad as it sounds because you aren't sure what's going to be said next.

I'm using Win10 so I'll be doing some experimenting. I want to find a solution that works for everyone. Hopefully, we'll find something that works. Until then, I'll need to turn it off and just listen to the movie. If it takes a little extra time, I'll deal with it. But right now, I don't care.

We don't really have a problem. It's just been funny to watch them turn it only to realize they had turned it off while I was watching. Then they turn it on again. I guess it's an issue with Microsoft Windows 10. It makes everyone's Windows experience a little bit better. They all like that feature.

Microsoft says it is working on a fix for those problems. My understanding is that it's a pretty simple fix.
