How do I block Reddit on my phone Chrome?
Doing it in Firefox is easy.
Just enter the following into your address bar: about:config. And then type block into the search box. Find the value for browser.tabs.updateWindowTree and change its value to 1.
And that's it, you're done! If you'd like to block Reddit completely, but are on an Android phone, I've found a much easier solution. You'll need to disable the Reddit app entirely. To do that, open the app and tap the 3 dots. A menu will pop up, tap Disable.
Now you can use any browser extension to block Reddit. I have mine installed on Chrome, so I just click the three dots on my toolbar and select my extension.
I find this solution much more convenient than dealing with the browser settings described above. If you want to read more about Chrome extensions, check out this tutorial.
I hope this saves you the hassle of blocking Reddit on your phone or tablet.
How to block Chrome apps on Android?
I just bought a laptop and installed Google Chrome (and all the Android applications, including Gmail) on it. Now I want to block some Chrome apps (to block YouTube, Pandora and Netflix) so that I could use this browser with more privacy. How can I accomplish this? The only thing I found in the Internet was the app which blocks all Chrome apps by modifying Chrome OS files. But it does not work any longer on version 78.
You need to be rooted. If you aren't rooted, don't even attempt to do this. You may also not be eligible for some protection from the Play Store due to the way it works for security updates etc.
If you are rooted, you need to enable the following kernel flag: adbd shell settings add persist.allowchromefromotherorigin 1 # or set=1 And then make sure you have an adb command line tool: # apt-get install android-tools-adb. Now to test what's going on: adb shell pm grant com.google.maps android.permission.ACCESSFINELOCATION
From there, you can add a permission and revoke permissions as needed. Be sure to remove the flag after testing.
Note that if you wish to restrict what permissions are available, you'll need to set your security settings higher to allow for that.
Can I block a website on Chrome Reddit?
On Chrome, you can't block a website.
You can only block individual pages. You can also block an entire domain by changing the hosts file in /etc/hosts, but I don't recommend that. It's easy to overlook that file when you're trying to do something else, and it can cause problems.
This guide will help you block a website. You will first have to install a Chrome extension called Disconnect.
Follow the steps below to block a website on Chrome: Step 1: Go to Disconnect. Download and install the latest version of Disconnect from here. This will install the Chrome extension which will block the website you specify.
After installing the extension, open it and navigate to the webpage you want to block. Then click the "Add Website" button.
Step 2: Block the Website. You can block a single page or domain by adding the URL. If you want to block a domain you will have to add all the subdomains as well. In this example, I will be blocking 4chan.
Open the domain you want to block (4chan in this example). When you click the name you will see a drop down list with the options to "add to blacklist" and "remove from blacklist."
Select the option you want and click "Add." You will now have blocked 4chan.
Step 3: Confirm. If you are still seeing the site on the browser, you probably forgot to add it to the list. You will have to add the site again. If you forget you can always use the "Reconnect all websites" option on the toolbar.
