Your phone should list the option to connect automatically, but if not just reconnect by pressing the back button in the phone browser and choosing to connect again. How to configure FortiClient VPN server?

I have created a FortiClient virtual machine (vmware) and I have configured it successfully. I have a web application which needs to be connected to an intranet server and this one should be reached through the FortiClient virtual machine. I have followed the steps from this tutorial and after making some configurations on the web interface I am able to see the connection in the FortiClient. But the issue is when I try to connect to my application from the remote computer which is running on the same network the connection is not working.

I have attached an image of the connection and it says cannot reach the internet. This is a very common problem and has something to do with the rules for NAT traversal. If the port on the server side is not open, then the request cannot go out.

My question is I am connecting to other company through VPN, so do I need a certificate from them? What is the difference between a certificate and an exception? If you are getting that error, it is definitely because the IP address being used does not exist on the external network. That means that when you are trying to access the website from the client, it will go out of the intranet because it has no valid IP address or route information. So you need to configure your firewall or network to handle this and make sure that the IP address of the router at the other company's network is properly assigned or reachable to.

So here are some solutions I have found which would let you do a VPN on your android phone without the need of installing an app. OpenVPN is probably the most popular app on the play store. And it's an open source app too, so it supports very many different platforms.

How to setup it? I am using it on my Pixel 2XL (Android 9.0). For this, you would need a rooted device.
