How to download web page as PDF in Safari?

How to download a webpage on a Mac?

For those of you who don't know, the Mac version of Safari is based on the Safari for Windows.

It's a native Mac app, not an OS X application. It's available here. (Though this will download the old one that comes with OS X.)

The download link is in the Safari for Windows page, but I'd like to know how to download the Mac version of Safari, which is the same as the browser we all know and love. I've done some Googling, and it looks like the way to get the latest is to run a terminal command in the App Store. That's a bit complicated. This should work: open /Applications/Safari.app When you run this command, you will be in the app. You can browse, or use the menu bar and tools to search, open a tab, etc.

Now I'm going to assume you want to download the Mac version of Safari, not the beta. This will download the last version of Safari that Apple ships with OS X.

To download the Mac version, press Command-Q and select Downloads. That's it. You can go to the Downloads folder, and double-click on the Safari installer. This will launch the Safari installer, and you'll be prompted to enter your Apple ID. You can also use the "Download from the Mac App Store" option, which will take you directly to the Mac App Store. In the Mac App Store, you should see the new version of Safari listed in the Updates section. You can download it, and it will install. You can quit the Mac App Store, and then run Safari.e. You can now use the browser normally. If you want to download the beta, open Safari.e. Then go to the Develop menu, and click on the Beta tab. You can click "Download", and it will take you to the beta version. As I understand it, the Mac version of Safari is going to be a native app, and will be called "Safari". If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Comments. I was just going to say I wanted to know how to download the Mac version of Safari! I know it's an old thread, but I didn't know what to do!

From time to time when trying to quickly access a certain web-page I find myself wishing I could download the pages' data as a pdf file so that I can easily and quickly share or access that data via tablet, laptop etc. One answer is here: Can I view website in PDF format? But it requires javascript. Is there any "native" (preferably browser-independent) way to do this? You can try using Google's browser-plugin Chrome PDF Viewer.
