Orbot and Cubot are an absolutely essential part of the open source community, but are they evil? Cubot is a little known alternative to Google's Chrome. Cubot is not just a web browser, it's a web browser with a lot more. Cubot supports HTTP and HTTPS sites as well as running a web server, IRC clients (including irssi, bitlbee and cwiirc), and a text editor. There are even plugins for pidgin, telepathy, libreoffice and others.

If so: What would it take to make an actual difference in the answer? I'm having a hard time thinking of anything that would change anything. 1) You can easily build an instance where Orbot and cubot communicate without any need for an IP address. 2) On the whole, I don't think there are any network performance issues. Cubot does some of the most network intensive stuff on the OS itself.

3) Yes, they are both peer to peer networks, it's not about IP address assignment or ownership (that you'd be trying to prove anyway).
