Is JustRemote real or fake?

So I've been looking at remote jobs, and am sooooo tempted to apply for one of those "work from home" jobs.

I'm a web developer with no business experience (and not much in the way of "soft skills", ie how to deal with people or be in the corporate world), and I have no computer/server knowledge/expertise whatsoever. But the jobs I see are all for "web designers", or "tech support specialists" etc. Which I just don't have the time/money/skills to do.

There are some web developer positions, but I don't see any that look like they'd be remotely interesting. So am I crazy for even considering taking on something like this? If it was a company that had a real office and had a decent-sized team, I'd be very tempted to consider it. But since I can't see that working out for me, I'm really wondering if the only reason why I might get hired for a job like this would be if I could prove myself to be a pretty damn good dev. And then it's back to the "is it really worth the risk"? question.

I know that at one point in my career I might have considered a remote job, but with the cost of living in Vancouver as it is, I just couldn't imagine what I would be able to do to be financially self-sufficient. So I guess my question really boils down to: How big of a step will this be? Yes you will learn all about the inner workings of a computer system, but this is something you probably already know something about. When you are learning from scratch you'll have to be taught everything. Once you've got that down, you can apply what you've learned in a new role. You won't have to unlearn the skills you learned.

I don't think you should discount the value of a work from home job, if you are able to manage your time well. But remember that you will also need to do some teaching, to help people who you are mentoring.

I'm sure there are plenty of companies that will take on someone with no experience, and give them the work. If you can manage a few things at once, I think you'll be ok.
