How can I change my passcode on my iPad?
I have an iPad with iOS 7 and it is the only one of my three devices to have problems connecting to my WiFi network.
It connects fine when I'm at home but when I try to connect at work it fails to connect. The other two devices connect fine and the iPad doesn't have a passcode on it.
How can I make it so the iPad asks for a passcode when I try to connect at work? Go to Settings, then General, then Passcode Lock and turn it on. In iOS 7, the passcode lock screen (when turned on) can only be unlocked by using the Touch ID feature. You can use the Passcode Generator app to help you generate a random code to unlock the device. The accepted answer is incorrect as far as I can tell. The passcode lock will not show on the iPad. The only way to change it is in the settings: General -> Passcode Lock.
However, it will not ask for a new passcode when attempting to connect at work. The only way to do that is in the Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Settings -> Passcode Lock -> Turn On Passcode.
The only way to generate a random code for your iPad is with the Passcode Generator app (it's free). It will only generate codes for a limited time and you have to unlock the app before it can generate a new code for you. I am currently on an iPad 2 with iOS 6. I've noticed that if you're in a place where there is no strong WiFi signal and you try to turn on the WiFi, the first thing the device will do is to enter into "Passcode Lock" mode. This allows you to enter a new passcode to the iPad. If the WiFi signal is too weak, it will take a while to enter the passcode. After entering the passcode, the WiFi will become active. If you are in this case, you will have to enter the passcode again, and then the WiFi will become active. This may not be what you're looking for, but it is something to be aware of.
