What is scrapfly?

Scrapfly is a cheap and easy-to-use tool which makes scrap booking easy, bringing your imagination to life and opening up the world of beautiful scrapbooks. A few years ago a few keystrokes were enough to have me signing up for a credit card. I didn't even know what a credit card was at the time. In today's world it is much easier, and while I am still against automatic debit online (you have no idea how many frauds there are on that system), you can hardly imagine how many more are out there in the world of online purchases. But my point is, I should have done some serious market research before I signed up for a credit card, and one thing I would have missed was the fact that I could sign up for a credit card by going to another website and essentially having my name and address entered into one of the most targeted databases for credit cards that is on the internet, so I can be bought and sold against even without my knowledge.

So you might be asking yourself, if you are not alone, is it really possible to sign up for a credit card without your knowledge? The answer is yes. A third party company called Gainsco has been doing this for years and if you can feel safe using their services, it is not illegal if they do it on an opt-in basis. So what are they doing and why is it legal?

How else to get credit? The first thing to understand is the difference between credit and debit. A debit card is used to make a payment on your behalf. It is like a check. As a consumer, you have no idea whether or not the merchant you are paying has a bank account. You are trusting their word that they are going to turn around and deposit the money into your account the same day. If you are doing business, banks are less likely to give you a credit card because historically they have lost money when businesses showed up with no checkbook, or worse yet, no checking account.

An example of how the process works is a simple Paypal transaction. Paypal uses what is called a Payment Reference Number (PRN) to reference the transaction. How does Paypal get this? The answer is online credit card companies. All major credit card companies maintain databases of credit card holders who have authorized them to charge a purchase. They have electronic agreements with each other where they exchange data on what they see.

When was Scrapfly founded?

Scrapfly has been around for over 3 years now. We started out as a small group of friends with a shared passion for scrapbooking and a love for photography! After a few months, we became friends on Facebook and quickly moved from there to beyond friendship.

Some of the Scrapbook Friends are now our Couples and Kids Team, which is now expanding our ability to capture memories and stories through scrapbooking! How was Scrapfly chosen to take part in (INSANE) Creative Giveaways? Our awesome sister company, Scrapspot ran an item giveaway not too long ago with the same companies. We had never heard of any of them and just loved how creative they were! After looking around for other awesome companies that we could give away with Scrapfly, we found Insane Creative Giveaways.
