Does award VPN work on PC?

So, as you know, I've been playing around with a few things to get VoleXVPN to work in my PC, because it wasn't working so well when I tried and was limited to LAN play and didn't have all the other fun games I could have had if they allowed a VPN account for online play. I had read that some VPN services (mostly smaller, lower tier ones) worked with PCs, but wasn't able to find anything about this.

So is it possible, or are you saying VPN's won't work on PCs? There's no reason why it couldn't be that some don't work with PCs, but we've never found out why from the developers. I'd like to try to get a better VPN account if possible to improve my gaming. I don't want to give up on VoleXVPN entirely, but it would be nice if I could. Is it possible?

Share this post. Link to post. There are many reasons VPN can't work properly on PC, both technical and business related. There's also an increasing number of people who believe that internet privacy should be protected, so many VPN providers don't sell products that work on PC. Also, most smaller VPNs have to be purchased by big corporations so need to have the resources to invest in servers, so often have less bandwidth than the largest VPN providers. So many of them may well not sell your information to the public at all (or at least not very freely). Bigger VPNs (like VoleXVPN) will definitely not, and will usually have their own sites to deal with business accounts.

If a server can't do a client to client VPN, then usually it won't work at all. If it does, then it should do it using the same protocol which should mean it works over LAN and WAN connections alike. However many protocols can't work on client-to-client VPN and so are more suited to servers acting as a gateway to a larger network. This tends to be much better than VPN servers just using a VPN as you have the freedom to switch providers and don't always have to use the "fastest" one (or one that seems the cheapest). Unfortunately the only way to be sure you can use VPN on LAN is to try it.
