What VPN is better than NordVPN?
The short answer is, Yes.
While all VPNs are basically the same, NordVPN offers better security and features than most. Here's our NordVPN review to help you decide which one is right for you.
NordVPN has been one of the top-rated VPN services since its inception. But even NordVPN's best service, like ProtonVPN, has its shortcomings. It often struggles with server locations and connection issues.
With NordVPN, you don't have to worry about any of this. You get a great network connection, the privacy you've been looking for, and the reliability you need.
NordVPN is secure, private, reliable, and fast. The software is easy to use and comes with plenty of customization options. If you're looking for a strong VPN provider with a focus on privacy, NordVPN is a good place to start.
Pros. Highly secure. Easy to use. Fast and stable. Lots of server locations. Cons. A few connection issues have been reported in the past. NordVPN has been around since 2025 and has a long list of accolades from critics. This means they've had plenty of time to perfect their service. They haven't lost a step, and neither have their features.
You can connect to a VPN server at more than 100 locations in more than 50 countries. You can create your own server, choose between 3 operating systems, and choose between 3 data plans.
NordVPN has over 1 million customers.99 for 3 days only. Get your discount before it expires.
How NordVPN works. NordVPN has a few different plans and features. We'll explain the most basic features, then dive into the details of each plan.
NordVPN is one of the cheapest VPN services around.49/month if you sign up for their 2-year plan.
However, you don't have to worry about the price tag.49, you get a lot of value.
What is the difference between PIA and Nord 2024?
Nord 2025 is based on the original PIA with some improvements.
There are no differences between the two of them. Nord did some things, they used a metal gear with a little lower noise than the originals were, used new bearings and some other things.
I used to be very worried that if I buy the older one that it wouldn't have all the parts and components that were put in it in the newer ones but it does, you can go in and swap out the entire belt drive setup if you wish to. This thing is an absolute beast! There are no differences between the PIA and Nord 2025. NORD made improvements that were not there before. Nord started with the original PIA and they worked with it for many years, they eventually got it right and ended up with a better product by going back and looking at the original ideas instead of thinking they could just put all these upgrades in themselves into this thing with no problem. The same for all of the parts used. When these parts go back in production there will be no need for them ever again, once they are perfected it will be as good as new as far as Nord are concerned. They are a company which will always follow their own internal path without deviating from any of their previous designs or ideas unless there is a significant difference in customer demand. The quality control people for the PIA used by Nord are second to none, and they won't compromise their perfection as they already have in other markets for customers. Even if they are only making it for private sale and they don't know any other customers who care about the same as you, they will give it 100% focus. The whole of Scandinavia use this bike, it has been given its own design. The PIA has become something like a symbol in a Scandinavian context.
People like it when I say PIA or Nord, sometimes it can get confusing. One doesn't think it would be possible for two separate organisations of the same name to exist and have two products made by them which both come from the original "Nord" product. But PIA and Nord both mean the same thing here, the original from 1969, and the newer products which Nord make now and which Nord sells privately as well are in a good way. When people read this they ask which is the true value, the newer or the older bike?
Is PIA VPN still good?
I currently have a business class wireless setup with my laptop and iPad/iPhone.
If I understand correctly, my current setup is as follows: PIA's VPN server running on a VM (I have no OS other than pia-server/pia-client) on my laptop. My desktop's router (running as the VPN gateway) runs on a VM on the router, which has the following IP addresses (iirc): VPN Gateway: 10.1 Internet Gateway: 10.2 On the same LAN (using wifi), I run the following clients: My laptops and iPads. Desktop PC. Android Tablet. Windows Phone (which I only use for voice calls). PS3 (which I use for games like Mass Effect). Everything seems to work well (at least I think so). However, if I disconnect my connection on my desktop, I am still able to access the PIA-server in my laptop without any issues. But if I stop the computer that is hosting the router, I cannot get into the PIA-server in my laptop from an outside connection.
Is it just that I'm using my laptop's internet connection, but my router is actually being ran by my desktop machine? And if so, is this a really bad idea to use it this way or could it do something very serious if misconfigured? Is PIA VPN a good option if I can't live without mobile data (I'd assume I can't? Or should I look for something else? PIA's VPN server running on a VM (I have no OS other than pia-server/pia-client) on my laptop. No, that's not a good setup. PIA offers you nothing.
PIA's VPN server, if configured properly, encrypts and transmits traffic using IPSec and SSL between your laptop and their VPN server. From there, PIA connects to your wireless network through DHCP as most wireless adapters are connected directly to your local network (or whatever network) without any kind of routing. They only route traffic locally to other hosts on your local network. So you won't be receiving any traffic from PIA's VPN server.
Which is better NordVPN or PIA VPN?
I heard both of them are similar.
What's your opinion?
Well, first, I would like to share my experience using VPNs on Android and Windows mobile operating systems. I am currently using NordVPN, so I will share the review. But I have already spent a lot of time using PIA VPN and have found its many issues which prevented me from using it regularly.
So, is NordVPN better than PIA VPN or vice versa? Well, it depends on which features you prefer. You can choose the one that fits your need better. I will try to be as impartial as possible.
