So make sure you don't use a VPN to block others from accessing some content (most of the time you can't) because this isn't a great way to get back at someone else.

What to Look For. Some things to look for when choosing your VPN: Open VPNs are very simple to use and easy to install but they can only route through servers your computer has access to. OpenVPN has a really basic gui-based program installed, very easy to use and has lots of configurability. It is free and if you are a business you should be able to use their openvpn service.

PPTP is almost the same as OpenVPN just it is for those with windows boxes. It is a lot more complicated to install but in some situations it can better than OpenVPN for those with windows boxes.

L2TP/IPSec is essentially OpenVPN but is for those with Linux boxes. It can be complicated but is powerful so for those with Linux you should get the L2TP/IPSec option.
