How do I import emails from iCloud to Gmail?

Can I add my iCloud email to Chromebook?

I have been using iOS and Mac computers as well as Ubuntu on my new Chromebook.

I have no problem syncing or backing up via Dropbox.

I am now trying to do the same on my phone using iCloud. This seems to work very well, and I was able to add my gmail email address to sync the contacts. However, what I really want is for my iCloud mail to work like Gmail does with all its webmail. That means not only syncing it, but also being able to open my emails on my phone without logging in (no AppleID).

Is this possible? It seems that the Google Apps work exactly the same as my Mac/iPhone are using Gmail.com, so how could I make it work in Chrome OS? If it is already not possible, should I ask for support to the Chromebook team? It seems it would be the right thing to do.

Also, if I have the same issue, where would I ask them? Google Groups? The Chrome OS Forums? Or the Chrome OS Team email? Re: I want to use my iCloud mail like my Gmail webmail. Thanks. It seems to work great (except my iPad email client, which still fails to sync the iCloud email) I had assumed there was no way for it to be done on my Chromebook. I wonder if Chrome OS would better integrated into the iCloud system, making it more natural. What do you think of it? Do you miss the Webmail of Gmail and want to go back to Webmail? Should I ask for a developer support for it?

Do you see it being possible in the future? Thanks again for your support. Edit: I tried a lot of combinations, but it seems the only way to get access to this email is to use Apple ID for it. Which is exactly what I do not want! I was hoping I could add my iCloud email to my regular webmail app on Chrome OS (like I can do with my Google Apps domain).

How do I import emails from iCloud to Gmail?

If you're thinking about using Apple's iCloud service to store email and calendar data, but can't decide what email client should be used to access your data on other devices, this video is for you.

Using a tutorial provided in the video, I'll show you the steps to import all your mail from iCloud to Gmail.

I'll cover how to configure your Gmail settings, and what's involved in importing emails from Apple's iCloud. Before we get started, if you haven't already, we recommend doing a backup of your mail from Apple's iCloud. Getting Setup: Creating a Gmail Address. In order to start this procedure, we're going to need to create a Gmail address. If you don't already have one, a Google Account provides many of the features we will need to sync data.

For many users, you probably already have an address. You can choose either Google, Facebook, Outlook, or Other.

For most users, I suggest using Google as the email service to start with. When you follow through, your username and password won't be required anymore.

Configuring Gmail Settings. The first time you visit your Gmail account and create a new Gmail account, a lot of things will be set automatically. These configuration changes are important, but they're easy to get the hang of if you just take a couple of minutes to figure out how to use them. When you first start using Gmail, you'll see a list of accounts that were automatically configured on your computer. Click View Settings for each of those accounts, then click the Gear icon ().

From there, you can view, edit, and delete these accounts, just like you would edit or delete any other email address on your Gmail web account. Click Addresses at the top of your settings page to manage additional email addresses. To add an address to this list of accounts, first type the email address you want to add. Then, at the bottom of the page, select Add to list.

How can I link my Gmail to iCloud?

I have a couple of other iCloud things, such as My iPad.

The most common and reliable way to link a Google service account is to set up another Google account and simply use that. As the Google Apps support FAQ section specifically notes: "To link multiple Google services to one Google account on another platform: Select your existing account in the list at the top of the page. When you sign into the second account, you should be able to select Gmail and any other Google apps you want linked." (If you don't see "Other Accounts," look on the right hand side, under the "Sign in" section.) For information on enabling two-factor authentication for this additional account, see Using 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) with Your Gmail Account. For information about why to do this, see Google Two-Factor Authentication. Note that when setting up two-factor authentication on your secondary account, be sure to configure your primary account to receive password-reset e-mails as well as text messages using SMS.

If you can't manage to link the additional account to your existing Google account, the trick to get it to appear is to add the two accounts as aliases and then link them, or else add your account as an alias with no email. If you do this and try to access other links using the alias, you won't be able to. The trick is that you'll simply be directed to your new account while accessing any of the sites where you had access when you initially signed up.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work quite so easily with my iCloud account because I have other things like an iOS device account linked there as well. However, as noted above, if you are able to set up the iCloud account with two-factor authentication enabled, you can link the two accounts via the same process. As long as you use the same security settings on the second account as you did for the original, you should be fine.

(While editing this question, I added all the photos to iCloud. There is no such problem for Gmail.)

I'm sorry for not explaining better. They connect the 2 using your GoogleID and some secret key. Google also uses another security key that must be registered with every other connected google service.

Can I add an iCloud email to Gmail?

No, not yet.

If you can do this with an iCloud email on an iOS device, it will probably happen soon for Google as well. But the good news is that we've now got a workaround to send emails from your phone to your PC.

You can do this easily from your iPhone or iPad via the Gmail app. Just sign in and click on the blue Send Mail button.

When the popup is open, tap the Add Contact button and then choose your email address from the Contacts list. That's it! Google has a feature called Save to Google that lets you sync your Gmail messages, contacts, calendar, documents and even your browser bookmarks and passwords between your PC and your phone. You can see all of these items, including your recent searches and notes you've made, on the web at any time. So you don't need to make changes on your phone, and you don't need to download anything to your computer.

Google Docs is the main tool that makes this so easy, but you can also use a website to share files between your phone and your PC. For example, here's how to save a Google Doc file to your PC: Step 1: Open the Google Doc in your browser. Step 2: Click the Download button (top right). Step 3: Select the file that you want to download. You should see the file listed in the Download section.

Step 4: Download the file to your PC. You can drag the file directly onto your desktop, or copy it there from your browser.

Google Docs works across all PCs, Macs and mobile devices. It even works with a Chromebook.

Step 1: Open the Google Doc on your mobile phone. Step 2: Tap the Share button at the top right. Step 3: Tap the Download button and select a file on your phone or PC. The Downloading box opens.

Step 4: After the file is saved, tap the Done button at the top right. In my experience, this process usually only takes a few seconds, and the file is ready to edit.
