How do I allow APK permissions?

How to allow action not allowed Family Link?

(for the iPhone)

In my family plan, I would like to allow for one of my children to do everything on it while the other two need to have their own. To do this I had set up an iPad and an iPhone which were shared on the Family Link app. The iPad allows any family member to view/download all the contacts/sms while the iPhone permits only one of the family members to access the photos/videos/settings. To get this to work with Family Link on the iPhone it seems you must make some very specific changes to settings if I want each of my 3 children to be able to use the phone. I had changed the settings to as follows, but I got a permission error when doing any action that the Family link is not authorised to:

It also does not work when switching to Family Sharing on my iPhone as all actions require me to add an account? Does anyone know how to sort this out? We have 5 accounts all of which are currently linked through another way so that works as well. Thanks very much.

How to allow app downloads on Family Link?

My kid got Family Link and I thought it would be great for this to happen.

If I can figure this out, please let me know! My daughter wants to download apps, games, etc. To watch on the tablet. The main question is where do I tell her to get the app and how do I have her download it on her own?

You should be able to install the app you want in Family Link as long as you are allowed to install apps. Just like any other device, you would follow the steps for getting the app installed on your kids tablet. That will open up a window that will allow you to choose the app that you want to install. Clicking the install button will allow you to install the app from your store account that Family Link uses.

I had the same issue as well. I downloaded the same app on my own Samsung mobile phone and tried installing it on my family link which works fine on my personal android phone. However when I try installing the app on my Family link, the "install" button does not appear on the screen but the downloading progress bar still moves forward while I have seen that on other apps installed on Family Link.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense since I only have one account and the app is on the same account.

It's still not working though. I don't know what else to do at this point. I'm going crazy. I'll go ahead and check out the link for setting up the Family Link account and see what that has to say. It might help!

I have Family Link setup and have managed to get a few apps, games, and wallpapers installed and it has worked. Now that I have it configured for the family it seems that they cannot download any new apps unless I go to Samsung store and then download them.

I have been trying to get this done for over a week now with no luck. Can anyone please help me with this? I am getting frustrated. Thank you!

Hi, I have the same issue where I can get apps to be downloaded using Samsung Galaxy store, but Family Link is unable to. I am using a Samsung S3. I can connect to the internet through the WiFi button, so it's not an issue with that.

How to allow APK on Family Link?

My son's account was given access to family link and I downloaded APKs onto my computer, and I would like to know how to transfer the APK to the phone.

The APK has not been activated.

The only way to transfer the APK is from your device to your son's device if you set the app to be "shared" from your phone by going to the app's settings and clicking "Settings" then "Share". Then find your son's device (via the email address) in your phone, click "Shared" and click "Download from Family Link".

Since this app is only for the family, any family member can download/install the app to a non-shared device using the same process. Note: I have this installed as well and have not been given access to the app as well but only because of the age of the app.
