Why can't I install Family Link on my child's phone?
There are five important requirements that must be met to install the Family Link app to your child's mobile device.
Here are some basic things to consider in reviewing the setup instructions before trying to install.
Family Link works with Apple iOS devices. When Family Link is installed on a mobile device, Family Link requires access to the following user accounts and information: To protect your child, you will be required to sign into the Apple Wallet app at the beginning of installation, sign in with your own Apple ID and password, and select which Apple IDs can view your child's Apple account information. Your child must have an Apple device. You must own the Apple device. Your family members will be required to use this specific Apple device to download the Family Link app from the App Store. No other devices will work.
Only iCloud services can be used by Family Link users. When you sign into Family Link on your child's mobile device, your child must opt-in for each service individually. It is not sufficient to log in with the same credentials on another Apple device. Family Link also requires iCloud Family Sharing accounts to be set up and enabled on at least one of the devices.
For new Apple devices to begin using Family Link, a user is asked to set up one or more Apple ID, create a new iOS family account, enable iCloud Family Sharing on the device, and link a Family Link device to the Apple ID. After choosing to log into your own Apple account, you will be asked if you want to approve other devices using Family Link. The following devices or accounts require separate approvals: A recent Mac. IPhone. IPad. Other devices running iOS 11 or earlier versions. A second iPad running iOS 9 or earlier versions. An iPod touch running iOS 8 or earlier versions. The user must link all approved devices to the Family Link account. This requires selecting a Primary Linked device, which should be the iPad, then any other devices or accounts linked in the family. Additional accounts should be added when a primary device is selected.
Your child is not required to have an Apple ID to connect their Apple device. However, this requires opting in to Family Link and enabling iOS parental controls. When signed into Family Link, additional personal information about your child can be viewed by Family Link. This includes details about upcoming events, upcoming tasks, and messages.

How do I download a Family Link?
For the last two weeks, the National Security Agency (NSA) has been secretly monitoring our phone calls, emails, and other online activities. The Obama administration has refused to release a Privacy Policy or a Summary of the NSA Spying Program. The media, however, reports that the NSA is spying on our phone calls and emails through a program named PRISM.
What does this mean for me? Family Link is an extra layer of privacy for you and your children. The new NSA program allows the federal government to monitor how many times you speak to a doctor, whether you speak with your spouse, how often you call your parents, how often you talk to your children on the phone, and even if you are calling your grandchildren. It can monitor you as much as it wants.
In the past, Family Link was used to monitor cell phone calls and emails. This new monitoring program, PRISM, monitors all phone calls, text messages, emails, social media, and other data. PRISM is only one of the NSA programs. The other is called MUSCULAR, and it was used to collect emails from Yahoo, Google, Facebook, AOL, and Microsoft.
PRISM is being used to monitor U. Citizens, but it also is being used to spy on allies like France, the UK, Germany, Canada, and Australia.
What does this mean for my family? If the government ever asks you or your children questions about your Family Link communications, it can monitor you. PRISM is only one of the programs the NSA uses to spy on your communications.
Why am I getting so many questions? The new NSA spying program includes what the NSA calls a backdoor feature. If the government is monitoring your conversations, it can search for words or phrases and it can even read the conversations themselves. The government can monitor all your communications, including phone calls, text messages, emails, and social media.
