Why is Surfshark not working on Fire TV?

It has a few issues but most importantly, the Surfshark option is not working.

I have tried all the options and they are not working for me. The best option so far is to put the Surfshark server in your device settings, although it does not work. So if you are really into this sort of thing you need to use a Fire TV stick or use an Apple TV, these do work.

What is Surfshark? The Surfshark is a VPN service from Cloudflare (cloudflare.com) that works for the web browser. It is basically a paid proxy service that is based on a company called Surfshark. Their aim is to give you all sorts of things. Not only is it a super fast internet connection that will make you feel more connected to the World Wide Web, but it is also a secure connection.

If you are really worried about what people are saying about your Internet connection, this may be a good option for you. The good thing is that it does cost money and you have to pay for this type of internet connection. It is just a shame that you can not use this for Fire TV. They even have an app for Android, but not for Fire TV.

How does it work? It works by using a VPN. The app is really easy to use and it has to do with putting a line on top of the Fire TV. It is just like the Internet connection. You click on it, and it connects to the server. This then hides all the information about your internet connection.

This is so much better than using free internet. You have to pay to use the internet, and you can not be bothered waiting half an hour for the whole thing to download. It is such a better option than waiting. All that will be on your Fire TV is the app and nothing else.

Is it easy to use? Well the app is easy to use. The idea is that it will keep you connected to the World Wide Web. That is the idea anyway. You will want to use a VPN because it hides your Internet connection. That way it will not see where you are and that is how you will hide your location. You can go on the internet and browse your heart out. You can also buy some items online or even make a website.

How does my Surfshark connection differ from a normal IP-VPN connection? I haven't personally used many connections other than my own but they normally look something like this: In the screenshot above there are three parts: Your router (Router #1) connecting to a VPN server on the internet. The internet is a series of computers or networks working together in order to host websites and content for you to view. Your router is connecting to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) Server. VPN is when your ISP connects directly to their own VPN server instead of directly connecting to the internet through the internet's network. This will prevent people logging into your router and doing things on the computer that isn't authorized to do so. Your browser has connected to the VPN server by using a connection to the internet known as a Socks Proxy. You can read more about Socks Proxies here.

So a connection like this will have its connection to the internet in front of it, connected to the proxy in back with it. So you can only access it through that connection and what ever data they have forwarded on to you is being accessed through that connection as well.

Now I'm assuming you have multiple routers in your home (I know you guys). Your router #1 connects to router #2 and your router #2 also connects to router #3 and this makes 3 network paths to connect between the routers. A connection like mine will always have the internet link leading to the router. It is the link that connects to the internet. A connection like yours will connect through two routers; router #1 and router #3. So when you view something in Netflix the request/connection starts with your computer to your router #1 and then on to router #3, through your router #1 and through the internet and finally to the VPN server.

Is Surfshark VPN good for Firestick?

I was reading reviews of surfshark and many comments that they have a good customer support.

I own an Amazon Firestick V3 and was wondering if you can even use this with the SurfShark VPN on Firestick. I was not seeing it mentioned in any of the reviews. It also mentions on their site that this is compatible only with V2 and V3 so it would make no sense for them to just change the model numbers, yet I read that in most cases, manufacturers change the model number when switching a design. This does leave me concerned and thinking it might be that a new update/design change in coming. Thank you for the input.

I am using SurfShark for over 6 years and love it! I do not know if you have a firestick yet but SurfShark will work great on your Firestick. You may experience some lags on the download but that is just how the internet works lol. After connecting via the firestick SurfShark will look like it is downloading right in front of your eyes. If you want I can tell you my settings if you need it. I use the Premium package just because the free option does not contain the extra features and has lags. But as long as you stay inside North America with the free VPN SurfShark should work fine.

Is Netflix blocking Surfshark?

The VPN I just recently recommended to a customer is surfshark and it has been off the list.

They are blocking VPN's? This is the first time they have ever done that. It does work though just on some sites like ebay.

Surfshark is not the cheapest, but I would have recommended it anyway. They really have the best VPNs. But I will be calling them and trying to find out why this is happening.

In regards to Surfshark, I have been using it for years, and have found it very reliable. It's an extremely affordable service. So if you want a solid service, then this is an option.

@bobbob- Thanks for the reply. Do you know the terms they are using to block users that use the program? I had not ever heard of them using any terms that I could think of. Also I do know that you work for surfshark. Just curious.

The IPVanish service from what I can see is that their servers only reside in 1 data center. The US one.

They have a few servers in a few other countries also, but all the servers are in the US. Also, if you do try IPVanish, don't think they support torrenting. Just a little something that came to mind, and I didn't read all of the above posts. Surfshark is the worst. I will get rid of them at some point.
@Titan, yes that's the only thing I am not 100% clear about. I will try contacting them today.

I'm afraid I don't understand the difference between that and "VPN" in general. Can someone explain?
