How do I outline words in Google Docs?

How do you fix borders in Google Docs?

In a Google Docs spreadsheet you have a lot of cells with borders around them.

If you want to change the border of just a single cell, you cannot click on the cell and choose a different border.

But there are a couple of problems with this. First, when you press the CTRL key while selecting a large cell, you select the entire cell, not just the border. And if you try to do this when the cell is already selected, nothing happens.

The other problem is that when you have many cells, many of which have borders, it is very slow to add lines to all of them. For example, you could select 50 cells in a row, each with a border."

It would be nice if you could use a keyboard shortcut to select a large area of cells with borders and then press one key to add lines to all of the borders. That way it would be faster.

But you can't. So what do you do? You have to do the same thing twice. First, select the large area of cells with borders. Then, select the cell you want to change the border of.

This is a pain. Fortunately, there is a much easier way to do this.

Why can't i add an outline in Google Docs?

I'm trying to draw a box on a sheet in Google Docs, and when I do, the box becomes the color of the background, and I don't see any way to change the color.

I've tried clicking on the box and dragging it, but there doesn't seem to be a "move" option, only a "select all" option.

You need to select the box before you can make changes to it. If you can't select it, you'll have to switch to a different box style like the text boxes, and then you'll be able to make changes to the box.

How do I outline words in Google Docs?

I'm used to MS Word and it's amazing how many ways there are of outlining words.

Do I need to use one? If I do, is Google Docs just as good? What am I missing here? Why can't I write a proper word outline in a document? Replies to This Discussion. Not quite the same but the "Outline" function in Word is brilliant - it really does seem like you are "on paper" seeing each letter of the alphabet and you can highlight words etc in a different colour. I think it is great that you can export PDF files to pdf books - so I have now been able to create books from my various blog posts. It's also been very handy for creating manuals for my various gadgets. Here's the video link -

The software available for Microsoft Surface RT is just stunning! The pen allows you to change the colour of your texts, draw your own shapes, mark up photos in any style you want to and more. Check out: In MS Office "Outline" function is great option when you have few paragraphs. For bigger documents, it's not possible. But Word users, there is great extension for Visual Studio called "Word Add-In". In order to use it, you should install some extra tools and additional plugins from MS Download Centre. I have downloaded the trial version that gives you access to all functionality - it's worth a try.

I have never been happy with word's Outline function, and I have since discovered that it cannot even work with a page number that appears at the top of each page. It's fine if you just want a brief outline or a couple of bullet points and maybe a bit of sub-heading, but it is not a very flexible way of creating a word-style outline - and the word "outline" implies (to me) that you will be able to expand this further at a later date. As an aside, I am not a fan of Google Apps either, and find it difficult to use as a web designer (and that's because I refuse to use another non-Web-based word processor as a default).
