Who did the anime for Sound and Fury?
The answer is a little hard to figure out, since so many names are attached to this anime.
The producer is the guy who worked on the original sound direction for Space Sheriff Gavan and Go Nagai's Devilman back in the 80s. He directed the first episode for both Gavan and Devilman and directed several episodes for his own series, Cyborg 009, and even directed two episodes of the original Godzilla: Destroy all Monsters. There are some links there with the early history of Kajika to get some background on who was involved with the early works as part of the staff at Toei and then Tsuburaya Productions before moving to Toei Animation under Eiji Tsuburaya. Tsuburaya was one of the biggest producers of Japanese animation in the 50s/60s and 70s, he was instrumental in getting anime out into the world, but what about his studio?
I've done lots of research over the years, going back in the day, on who was involved in the anime department back in the 90s, I know for sure that Hiroyuki Arita had a role in the production for Sound and Fury, as did Takanobu Terada who was working at Tsuburaya at the time as their senior supervisor for planning, not making the anime itself. However, when I did some basic research about how Sound and Fury is different, they were not listed as the producing studio at all.
The original Toei Animation logo. I asked many people and got different responses: some said that it is produced by Tsuburaya Entertainment, while others say they made the first 2 episodes as well as the English voice-overs, the remainder of the episodes are done by the company listed on the boxart. It has been a while since I have tried to track it all down, but you can always find answers by just looking up the old name and what roles went to and what shows they did, etc. I do not believe that Hiroyuki Arita, Takanobu Terada or Yutaka Izubuchi ever worked on Sound and Fury at all, so if you search these names it will bring up what shows they actually worked on if nothing else.
This got me thinking, why are there two companies listed on the show's logo?
Where can I watch Sound and Fury anime?
AnimeSai.
I've been looking for a streaming anime site with good English dubs for some time. I've been on Crunchyroll for some time but I've recently noticed that there's an English dubbed anime that I'd love to watch but I can't find it anywhere. The anime is called Sound and Fury and it's from Studio Fantasia.
It's about a girl who doesn't like being called "ugly" because of her face. She runs away from home and starts working as a waitress in a local restaurant and meets a guy who calls her "beautiful" which makes her feel better. She starts getting into fights with other girls because they say she's ugly. And this all leads to a lot of drama.
The problem is, I can't find it anywhere. I don't know why it's not on Crunchyroll or any of the other places that have anime in English. It was on Animenewsnetwork but it hasn't been on there for a while. I've searched everywhere and I can't find it anywhere. I can't even find it on Amazon.com. I've seen anime like this before and I know it's on there somewhere but I can't find it. I'm hoping someone can help me. Thanks!
If you're looking for the English dubbed version of the anime you're talking about, it's on Crunchyroll. You can use the search box on the website and type in Sound and Fury.
Thanks for the link. I was looking for the English dubbed version but I wasn't sure if it was on Crunchyroll or not. I figured it wouldn't be there since it's a Studio Fantasia anime and they don't have an English dub on their site.
The only reason I checked Crunchyroll is because I haven't seen this anime before and I've heard it's a good one. I'll go ahead and watch the first episode on Crunchyroll now and see how it goes. I just finished watching the second episode. I really like it so far. It's got an interesting plot. There's a lot of action in it as well. The animation quality is pretty good. I thought it was pretty cool how they used the word "beautiful" in the beginning of the anime. I think it makes the show more realistic and it's a nice touch.
