Is there a GUI for OpenVPN?

It's not hard to set up an OpenVPN, but having the OpenVPN configuration editor is sometimes painful.

I want a web-based config tool for OpenVPN, where I would select the server as well as connect to the tunnel through my browser. I need more than static text; I need the ability to dynamically generate and modify the .conf file after it's created. This is not the configuration of the server; it will be static. This will be much easier for me to configure my OpenVPN server.

Is there a web-based config tool for OpenVPN? No. I do need the ability to dynamically modify a file on the remote side during my connection. This means using HTTP requests on the remote client to modify the OpenVPN config in-place. So no CGI support required, which is a must for such a tool.

Some people seem to suggest that I look at a number of other solutions such as OpenVPN for Windows, but these options don't satisfy my needs in being able to easily configure my own OpenVPN server or work on an OpenVPN deployment that already exists in the wild without worrying about breaking the whole system. And I would like the best option to provide OpenVPN with a configurability that can't be matched by any existing commercial solution.

Is any OpenVPN implementation suitable for generating and editing the files on the remote client? Yes. It does make some sense that any tool generating content and modifying files would use HTTP connections; that's been the approach for OpenVPN for all implementations for more than 2 years now. All major implementations can be easily extended to support in-place editing via HTTP. These include both OpenVPN Server, OpenVPN for Windows, OpenVPN for Mac, OpenVPN for Linux, OpenVPN 2 and OpenVPN 3. But note that OpenVPN server requires manual editing of conf files - this is how OpenVPN for Windows works, and how OpenVPN for Mac works. OpenVPN 3 also can dynamically modify the config if the user wants. OpenVPN 2 and OpenVPN for Linux can do it too.
