How do I setup a VPN on my Samsung S21?
So my sister was given a Samsung s21 while visiting home over christmas.
My friend has an iPhone so I want to make sure it works. Ive been trying to setup the samsung s21 at her house (im in Australia, but have an ipod) and its not working. Whenever I go into my friends wifi settings, I just go straight back out. The samsung s21 supports a VPN setup as far as I can tell.how do I set this up?
Is their any other way of doing a VPN on my samsung s21 other than the "network settings" screen? The iPhone also support a VPN and is easier to use as it is already setup to use the VPN settings option. You can connect with the help of a third party app called PrivateVPN App where you can get a free unlimited 7 days trial. Make sure to look out for the link of an invite here on iPhoneinasia if the app is already available for download. Please let me know if this worked for you. If not, is there an iPad or iPod touch available? I just ordered an iPad mini on 11th Jan 2026, will this work? The best way to figure out if it is possible with your specific device is to go to private vpn and get the free 1-7 days trial. That's the only way I think it would be useful.
I was able to download the app from iTunes just fine using an iPad mini 2 and an Android tablet with the same version of iTunes, no problems there.
Which VPN is safe for Samsung?
There's not much difference in the top VPN providers, but some have better security protocols and a more responsive customer support team.
You'll need to compare which providers offer good security, reliable connections, and customer service.
How do I use a VPN on Samsung? Your smartphone will already have one, but you might have to go into Settings and enable it. This option is usually called VPN. For instance, if your Android version is 9 Pie, you'll find the VPN option in Security & Location.
If you're running older versions of Android, then you'll find it under Wireless & Networks or Network. You'll also need to enable the specific network that you plan to use. What does a VPN protect me from? A VPN encrypts your data before sending it over the internet. It changes your IP address so it can appear as if you're not from that country, for example.
While a VPN might sound complicated, it's actually quite simple. A VPN is only as safe as the services it protects. The best VPN services offer strong security protocols to keep you safe.
Why should I use a VPN? Aside from the obvious safety advantages, VPNs can help improve internet speeds and lower data usage. How safe are VPNs? VPNs are designed to be safe. However, because they alter your IP address, they make it more difficult for websites to track where you've been. Additionally, VPNs can sometimes prevent you from accessing geo-restricted content or sites.
But they are not foolproof. It's important to look at each service's claims and make sure you're signing up for a reputable provider.
Is there a difference between a VPN and a proxy server? A VPN encrypts all your internet traffic, whereas a proxy is just for surfing the web. If you plan to access only a couple of websites, then you'll want a VPN. Otherwise, if you're looking for all the advantages of a VPN without the extra cost, then you'll want to use a proxy.

Do Samsung phones have a built-in VPN?
I need to use a secure VPN.
Is there an encrypted version of the built-in WiFi/BT manager that comes with the Samsung Galaxy S III (or any other Android phone)? I know that you can only connect to certain trusted networks via the VPN.
That sounds odd. I guess since they encrypt your data across the WiFi and the connection between device and gateway, it's basically a no. Does it only encrypt that data over wireless? How do I get the "VPN" to work on my phone? When I go into my settings it's just asking me about adding new WiFi.e. If I add it how does that benefit me? And how does Google Talk work without an internet connection? They must have an internal wifi network, how do I add that into my device? My only wifi is my 3G network. I think the only thing that this type of encryption could protect would be incoming from the WiFi, since the data sent from and to the 3G network is not encrypted unless a user has opted to send information through an encrypted network.
No, you would only need to protect your connection in a specific situation, such as when you are using your phone for a sensitive task. As others have stated, unless you are using WPA2 personal hotspot encryption, there is nothing to protect.
What's the difference between the VPN and Tethering from wifi, BT and 3G connections? I mean, if i'm connected to Wifi network with BT then my phone is connected to BT network with WiFi, that makes me feel like a hacker :P, so what's the difference? The difference is simple, there is no difference. When a device connects to a wireless network, or via Bluetooth or 3G, it creates a connection between the device and the network and between the device and whatever access point it is connected to. If someone breaks into that connection, they are compromised (which is the same thing as "you're a hacker"). When you're in a secured area with WPA2 protection, that is only going to keep someone from breaking into your connection. Your connection will be secured, but when your computer, tablet or phone is not, that is still your device being breached.
