What is positive and negative feedback for students?

I am currently teaching a class at my university and we are using the Positive and Negative Feedback.

However, I am not sure how to use this with my students. How do you set up a positive or negative feedback for students in a lesson? For example, a test, quiz or practice session for a lesson? The students have been given 5 positive and 5 negative questions which I have used as a prompt for our discussion. After this discussion I have asked them questions. I will share some of these questions below. I have used both positive and negative feedback with my class but I don't know how to set it up with the students individually.

Q1. What was the most difficult part of your test? Positive: "Being more careful to take notes while answering questions" Negative: "I don't understand the question and I can't answer it". Q2. What was the most enjoyable part of your test? Positive: "Reading the book. I loved reading the novel so I enjoyed reading the book for our book group" Negative: "Being able to answer the question quickly".

Q3. What did you enjoy the most about reading the novel? Positive: "I enjoyed every part of the novel. I particularly enjoyed the last part where the character made an action decision." Negative: "I liked every part of the novel except for the last part".

A1. Please write down your positive and negative comments on the two parts of your test.

Positive: "Thanks for completing the test." Negative: "I think you answered too many questions incorrectly. I know this because I have given my own tests to you in this class before."

A2. What questions did you ask that didn't work very well for you? Please write these down as you think about them.

Positive: "I have no idea how to solve these problems." Negative: "The first problem on the test is almost impossible because there is no possible combination for it. If I am not mistaken, there is only one way to finish this question. I have tried every possible combination but I don't know which one works."

A3. Did the questions on the test give you new insight into the novel or did they seem familiar? Positive: "I know I already read these questions and answers in the novel.

(if I have read it right). I mean. That is it can make you look like just another robot, just a human that is so good, that it goes to the point of being dangerous. That is what people call the 'over-achiever'. People like that who do all they can to be successful in their field (I do not have any name for them since I am too lazy to google them) but just doing so much and becoming a dangerous human being, one who causes damage and pain to others. It may be called the "Homo Eudaimonia" and "Cognitio Tranquillityus" - the "Homo Eudaimonia" just means "Growth of a Good Man/Woman". I want to know if my assumption of what I see as the main disadvantage is correct.

Also, I just want to say, in response to the OP's post: this question can mean many things. One is, how would you use, or misuse, feedback? Another is, what kind of feedback are we talking about? "We shouldn't have any feedback" isn't a short answer, but here's one of the few short answers I can think of: there are feedback loops in education. They're generally bad.

What I mean is, that if the students are well enough equipped with logical arguments (no matter how well they can solve it by rote-learning) and the teacher has enough time (enough time per student), then feedback does not need to exist. There are only three times when I find myself teaching a lesson where an argumentative approach is necessary (all of which are in college classes) and I almost always give a lecture instead. The problem with such courses is the lack of time. If the teaching is fast and furious, there isn't the space to explain why something is wrong and why that's wrong. And the students are just as confused as teachers.
