How do I change the channel on my TV?
I'm using a Motorola T989, with a remote control and an infrared. It seems that whenever I want to change the channel or my subscription, all I have to do is press one of the button once. Pressing it again will make the current channel I'm watching revert back to whatever channel I had set before I changed it. Also, my subscription settings change whenever I use the remote to change channels. For example, if I set my subscription to "Watch" when I first get home, then change the channel to something else (maybe something I've recorded), and then turn the TV off, when I turn it on again the next day, my subscription is already "Watching" instead of "No Subscription." In addition, if I turn the TV on and go into the Movie tab, instead of changing my subscription, it makes it "Stop Watching." I'm not sure if this is an issue with the remote or the software, but I'm looking for help figuring out how to change my subscriptions.
I think I'm stuck with the Moto T989, as I have no other HDMI devices, or another TV that would work. But I can't seem to find anywhere to change the channel or my subscriptions, or to even see them. I know this is kind of a bummer, but there are certain channels that I subscribe to, and I'd really like to watch them from the TV rather than my computer.
I have a Motorola T979 also, and don't have a problem with it. I set up my subscriptions in the TV software, and they remain there after the TV is turned off and on. Your problem is that you're not changing channels and therefore the TV is re-programming the settings. You need to go to the TV guide, set the channel, and then change it to what you want. Then go into the TV setup and set the channel, and set the subscription as you would on your PC. The TV should then remember what you want.
The channel settings are not reset between each channel change. If you are not changing channels, the subscription settings remain the same, regardless of channel.
I've been struggling with this as well. I have a Vizio and also a Netgear Smart TV box which I have to use for my Dish Hopper service. This is a problem with both of them.
