Is NordVPN trustworthy?

What are the cons of NordVPN?

Cons: The speed tests show that NordVPN has the slowest speeds of all the VPNs tested.

Its servers are limited to the USA, and not the UK, as it was a cheap VPN, but this can be changed to a different server location, it is just not ideal.

I have used NordVPN in the past, and although it has some good points, there are also some drawbacks. It does provide a good service in terms of their servers and ease of use. The only reason I didn't rank them highly is due to the slow speeds.

I will now list some of the pros and cons of NordVPN, and explain why I did not rate them highly enough to be ranked at number 6 in my Best VPN guide. The Good: A Good selection of Servers - There are some great servers available, like the Netherlands, the UK, and the USEase of Use - You can use NordVPN very easily. I just select my desired location and server and it connects me straight away. You can change your server locations on the left hand side if you wish, but it is just as easy to do it manually.

Money Saver - NordVPN offers decent pricing for a VPN service. The Bad: Sites can Detect VPN - Some sites that I visit cannot detect a VPN connection, and will therefore not work. Servers are limited to the USA - You can change your server location to the Netherlands, the UK, the Netherlands, or the USBut unless you are prepared to live in the Netherlands, this is not an ideal location. Slow Speed Tests - As I mentioned in the section above, NordVPN has some very poor speeds. What is the difference between a VPN and a proxy server? A VPN is essentially a firewall that allows you to bypass firewalls. All you do is connect to the VPN server and you are connected directly to a website without any limitations. It is important to know that most VPN services will use up a lot of your data allowance. It is best to limit your use of the VPN to a few hours in the week if you need one.

I personally do not use a VPN because my browsing habits are private and sensitive. This is why I opted for a proxy server.

How well does NordVPN work?

Do they hide their servers?

What types of devices do they work on? Will they ever get caught for the way they handle security? Read our article and find out!

Introduction. We all use a VPN to hide our real location when using the Internet. But who is responsible for security after all. Does NordVPN cover their business end against bad guys? Well, that is not necessarily the case. Their software is open source and they do not claim to have any special protection features to keep away the scum of the Earth.

Awareness of the OpenVPN software that is available for free and that any VPN user has at their disposal is a good start. After all you can run software as well as hide your IP and protect your anonymity. If everything works perfectly and your IP address is hidden, then you might consider getting to know NordVPN better. But not without knowing first about their company and their servers. Let's dig in to learn more about NordVPN and its products. This service enables you to browse privately, unblock websites, access geo-restricted content and other applications that you require on the internet. You can try it for a month and see if it is a must have tool for you. When you sign up, you are awarded one VPN package for a trial.49 per month. You need to pay monthly unless you cancel.

However, you would not want to cancel because the customer satisfaction is high. That means there is nothing wrong with this NordVPN platform. What happens when I use NordVPN?

NordVPN will install a network tunnel on your device and connect you directly to a private server in the US, Canada, UK, or Hong Kong.

You then access the server through NordVPN's secure connection. This is how you browse the web without a single trace, and how all your traffic is encrypted using our industry-standard SSL/TLS technology.

What happens when I use Private Internet Access (PIA)? With PIA you'll access the service through the provider's servers, so you'll still be connected directly to the websites you want to visit. We encrypt your traffic using industry-standard SSL/TLS technologies and provide 256-bit AES encryption.

But you won't get the added security that comes from NordVPN's state-of-the-art VPN tunnel and it won't be as easy for anyone to find out that you're accessing the internet via PIBecause of this, we recommend NordVPN as the default service to use while logged into your PIA account. Why do I have to connect to a VPN? Internet connections are based on trusted networks and computers, not on each individual computer. This means that no matter how many computers you're on and how secure they are, there's always a chance that they'll be compromised, which could put your sensitive information at risk. With a VPN, you'll connect to the network you're accessing with an encrypted connection. This means that your data stays private, no matter how many computers or devices you use.

I'm already on a public network, why would I need a VPN? Not only is a VPN useful for public networks like WiFi or Bluetooth networks, but it's essential for connecting to Wi-Fi hotspots. Wi-Fi hotspots are often unencrypted so anyone who is around could potentially see your traffic. If a Wi-Fi hotspot is protected, even if it uses a public network, your data will be kept private.

For example, if you're on a public train line with Wi-Fi hotspots you can still browse the web privately, and even send and receive emails securely. There's no danger in using Wi-Fi on a train because its users are generally unlikely to be malicious. But if you had an open access point nearby, anyone could connect to it and potentially listen to your traffic.

Here's what to look for when shopping

When trying to choose a VPN service, you want a reliable one.

NordVPN's tagline is no logs. No problem, which is a pretty strong claim. It's clear that the company cares about privacy and maintaining its user trust.

Here are our picks, with our top 3 services at the bottom. Why NordVPN? NordVPN was created in 2024 by Andrej Zdravkov, a developer in Slovenia who worked for a time for NordVPN. Since founding it, Zdravkov has worked to ensure privacy, integrity, and quality of the service. Its privacy policies are easy to read and adhere to. Zdravkov's experience as a web developer and software engineer is important because he understands that the security of users comes first.

It's a well-respected company that has kept up with its privacy requirements and policies well enough to earn the trust of many customers. It has a lot of different subscription models for clients who like the most affordable prices.49 a month, which is their best option.

NordVPN is also the only VPN that can have more than one tunneling protocol available. This gives you more options than most others offer when choosing your provider. It's worth mentioning that if you don't want to use encryption for your internet, you can pick the regular, unencrypted service.

Some Features. NordVPN claims it has some of the best features in the industry. You can get a no-log service that blocks your IP address from showing in searches. When you purchase it, you get 30-day money back guarantee and a 24/7 customer support line. The unlimited bandwidth, unlimited server location, 24/7 customer support, and 30-day money back guarantee are major pluses to keep in mind when researching for VPN providers.

Other important features to consider are: L2TP/IPsec and IKEv1 protocols with port-based restrictions. Award-winning apps for computers and Android and iOS. Anonymous and leak-free servers that are distributed around the world. Zero log policy.

Is NordVPN really worth it?

If you're like me, the answer is No!

I'm going to tell you why, and maybe it'll help you pick out the right VPN for you. But first, I have to start off by explaining what a VPN is. What is a VPN? A VPN is a Virtual Private Network that helps secure your internet connection from eavesdropping and hacking. It masks your public IP address and encrypts all of your internet traffic.

It's quite similar to a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate for web browsing and HTTPS for your internet traffic, but with some crucial differences. What Is NordVPN? I mentioned earlier that I want to compare NordVPN to Private Internet Access. This is mainly because the features that make one service better than the other are different enough to make it hard to compare them directly.

To make things a little easier for you, I've written a few articles on each service. I'll be pointing you to them later on.

Let's start with NordVPN and what makes it great: VPN Server Locations. NordVPN has servers in 12 countries including the United States, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, Singapore, Poland, Finland, Sweden and Italy. In comparison, PIA only has servers in 6 countries. They're still great, but if you need a lot of servers, NordVPN might be your best bet.

Server Locations and Number of Servers. Country Canada US UK Germany Netherlands Poland Australia Singapore Finland Sweden Italy. You can see that Canada is second to last on this list. If you're looking for a VPN for your Canadian friends, NordVPN will definitely come up short. However, I do think that some servers in other countries would be worth the extra money to accommodate Canadians.

The reason NordVPN doesn't have many servers in Canada is because Canada uses a unique DNS system. The servers are spread across a lot of different servers so that they don't lose their access.

If you want a good deal, I'd recommend getting it during the Black Friday sale, and you should get at least 10 servers in your home country.
