Am I VPN safe?
There is a website, It says it unblocks websites that are blocked by other networks.
However, they block other sites from reaching their websites. Is this safe? I'm pretty paranoid about my online privacy.
As far as I know it does not provide a VPN service. That makes sense, because I'm sure they would lose lots of customers if they provided a VPN service to their users. The service provides a proxy server that routes your internet traffic through their website so you can get to any websites you wish. For example, someone is blocking Facebook, they just go to their website. Then they load facebook on their browser, but it goes through the website and not through Facebook. This means the website is not technically "breaking" facebook in any way. This also means that the people that use their services are not the ones who end up with a blocked facebook profile.
In short, there is no actual VPN service involved. It is the equivalent of having a dial-up connection for the website to the user. It keeps the site's network connection safe, but it doesn't have any advantages of a real VPN service. In addition, it uses the DNS protocol which could be abused by governments. And even though it routes through an external server, it could still see some logs if you are logged into their system.
This means that they could be logging some data, or they could just use the IP information to guess at your location (for example, using Yahoo's geolocation service). It's best to find a VPN that actually encrypts the data, and doesn't log the data.
No, in that case he's not VPN safe. If I'm being very naive here, a VPN is like having a tunnel between two end points, in this case, one end point is your normal web browser, and the other end point is the VPN host site that is in a different country than your home country. With that, you have a tunnel between your normal web browser and the VPN host site, in which all the traffic will be encrypted.
The advantage of this type of VPN is that the sites can't see the user's location, nor can they see what you're searching for. The disadvantage is that the VPN company that he's using is very likely logging some of the traffic, and probably selling your personal information as well.
Is multi VPN safe?
We have a few VPN users, who are constantly asking us if they can safely use a VPN service.
They worry about being tracked or their ISP knowing their location, as they connect from different places. Since they use the VPN, their ISP won't know which country they are connecting from. However, do they know whether it's safe to connect from that country?
Do they have to worry about the VPN provider tracking them? ? They are right. A VPN does not hide your identity. It doesn't prevent you from being tracked. That's how the VPN service works. You create an encrypted connection, through which you'll access the content. That's how you can use a VPN for example on Netflix.
Your ISP is not able to track what you're doing on a website like Netflix. The connection is encrypted. The connection to the site is encrypted, but if your ISP knows where you are connected from, he will be able to track your IP.
Can you be traced by your VPN provider? Many VPN providers do not have servers in the USThat means that even if you connect from the US, the VPN provider cannot see your IP address. There are however some exceptions to this rule. It's often possible for the provider to track you even when you're using VPN services. It's often possible to see where you are located. It's for example possible to know what your IMSI number is.
This is also possible with other networks. For example the Swedish ISP Telia. They track all their users, even when they're using a VPN service.
The best VPN services will never track you. Is it safe to use a VPN in the UK? To a certain extent it is safe. The ISP will not know your real IP address. However, it's important to note that the IP address of the VPN provider will be visible. The provider of the VPN can see where you are located.
If you're using a VPN service in the UK, then you'll probably be fine. But you should definitely protect your privacy by protecting your identity. For this, we have written a guide on how to protect your identity when you're using the internet.
Is amnezia VPN good?
Is there any malware?
I used to be able to VPN into an international server in Romania, and get access to all webpages that way. For some reason, I stopped being able to do that, and if I do a google search for Romanian ipv6, I still can't access it via VPN. It seems like the IP of the machine is changed, though I'm not 100% certain.
Does anyone know if the "VPN" on amnezia has changed IPs recently, or are there known malware programs with names similar to those found on other VPN services that might have done something to the machine I'm using? EDIT: Okay, I understand how this might seem odd, but the reason this occurred is because the VPN I use is very basic. There's no authentication of any kind, it just lets me access a proxy server on another part of the internet. This is something I should definitely keep in mind from now on.
My question is, does it not have a simple password-based protection, or is it something else? It is really easy. For example, you have to visit website and change settings. (1) You will find "Secure Sockets Layer" connection with this site. (2) Click Enter a new certificate and make sure it match your Windows certificate of .cer type.
(3) Click Import. Now, you use Secure VPN Connection and you do not need to sign in. You must go the website that has been protected. And use VPN. The security is on our computers. The software is the same as in the picture below.
Note: You must use a public Wi-Fi where you are. If you connect a wifi (WiFi AP) at home, it's possible that the security is not so good (password may be too short). Then, we use a VPN connection.
I have never used a VPN connection at work. My network manager set up VPN connection (if I remember well).
When you are connected by VPN connection, it's not only about security. The software allow you to have direct connection with an external server. The program run automatically. It uses a static IP address that is not changed. It's better than when you use an DHCP address because the IP changes. It creates a tunnel.
