Do IP addresses vary by country?
Each network is mapped to different mapping domain, for example. .gov.uk is mapped to com.geographic.arizona.
If the Network and Domain were Country Code Top Level Domain, eg Co.UK, then you could expect they are probably different for different networks - due to the normal rules which apply: As WARC-INF-IOF or W3C-INF-IOF, IP address sub-domains for document (or HTML) Host Name are limited to two levels: The country code top level domain, eg:.fr.uk and the.edusu.ecosu.hese and so on.
So for.uk, they could use fr.iwm, fr.infr, fr.ste and.edu.drd and so on.
Consider which Country Code Top Level Domain has the most precise or unique address overall for your field of interest, eg you could have whois websites which cover.wales.es or maybe.europe and the other whois record will be unique and precise.
See w3k2-iwm-infr.net - 2 levels of sub-domains here.
However, the 'best practice' policy is to use 'human readable' names for hosts, or at least use a parsable host in the least available format, eg *uk is fine for ISPs and.uk for.uk, especially forcing ISPs to use a DNS server to give the less precise required host name.
So for a.uk an ISP (can be including Geo) could use rdp://onne.tech.uk or even sts://onne.uk which would force it off of their DNS cache.eu uses a fully exact match scheme, while.fr uses a one level
Shortest matching scheme.us is very long and thus used in long trunked telephone networks, while.uk is short and thus is used for internet. For IP addresses, like for domain names, there are around 3 billion ipv4 addresses available and global NAT of around 2 billion, which is why a record could be 1.
How do I find the IP range of a country?
I'm trying to figure out whether a few countries are within the same IP range. I'm able to find IP ranges for some countries, but not for others. For example, the IP range for the USA is: 168.1 - 192.254
The IP range for Austria is: 0 - 192.254 But the IP range for the UK is: 254.254 or
Is there a way for me to find the ranges of these countries? I'm not sure what you mean by IP range, but I assume you're looking at the "ranges of IPs" for the countries? If so, try this website. I haven't tested it, but it seems to be a reliable resource, and it's free.
